Moses Lake Takes Double Dual
December 6, 2007
West Valley High School.
Moses Lake Wrestling started off the 2007-08 varsity season with impressive wins over CBL 3A foes Sunnyside and West Valley.
The Chiefs started the night beating Sunnyside 48-20. Josh Nielsen got the night started with a pin and the team followed the lead by getting 4 pins in a row. But as the Chiefs entered the lower weights, Sunnyside won 4 matches in a row before Moses Lake took over again to pull away from the Grizzlies.
After a short break, the boys took on host West Valley. The chiefs won 12 of 14 matches on their way to a 62-12 victory. The match enjoyed most by your writer was at 152 lbs. Thomas Pheiffer wrestled up from 145 to take on West Valley standout Nick Gautreaux. Thomas came out on fire to take and early 6-0 lead and ended with a 9-3 win. It was worth the trip.
Way to go Chiefs.

Ready For 2007-08
It looks like it is back to the days when Moses Lake will be on top of the league/district. Can Pasco re-load and give them a run? Maybe the young Davis team will cause some damage. It is certainly only a 3 horse race. But with the individual aspect as well, I hope this forum will spurn some discussion and give some info. If you have info on transfers, new wrestlers, coaching changes, etc. Pleeeease chime in. This forum is intended to give interesting info and insights into wrestling here in the Basin. Be Positive.
