Congratulations go out to Rosie Roessel and Stacy Kuwik who have both signed Letters of Intent to play Division I Softball in College!
Rosie will be attending Lehigh University in the Fall of 2009 and will play for the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. The Mountain Hawks are led by head coach Fran Troyan and are a powerhouse within the Patriot League winning the last ten League championships and four of the last five tournament crowns.
Stacy will be attending Syracuse University in the Fall of 2009 and will play for the Syracuse Orange. The Orange are led by head coach Leigh Ross who joined the Syracuse staff in 2006 and has since coached the team to two of its four BIG EAST Tournament Appearances.

2008 NYSPHSAA Softball Championship, Class AA
Fairport Softball AAA/AA Champs (by Bob Ellis)
The Raiders will advance to the regional championship game against Clarence High School the Section VI champions after their 7-2 win over Greece Arcadia. The win gave Fairport the Section V AAA/AA crown.
Fairport struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Rosie Roessel and Caitlin Ellis both singled to start the inning. Roessel went to third on Ellis’ hit, which enabled Ellis to continue on to second. Stacy Kuwik was intentionally walked. All three runners advanced on an error by the catcher giving the Raiders their first run. Jess Steubing sacrificed scoring a run and the third run scored on a throwing error. Arcadia closed the score with a run in the second and fourth innings. In the fifth inning Fairport added four more runs. Ellis led off the inning with a single, stole second and scored all the way from second on the resulting throwing error. Kuwik followed with a single, but was forced out on a fielders choice. Michele Plotzker reached on an error and pinch hitter Mickie Sanna came through with an RBI single. Jen Plotzker concluded the scoring with a triple down the right field line driving in the two final runs. Kuwik struck out ten in picking up the victory.
