And we went to the championship game at the next level of the Tournament. Also, you should have some kind of a tribute to the late Bennie Elster. He volunteered several hours and was really behind the early success of the league.

Entry ID: 1561501 | I heard about your website from an old friend Ron Reinhold who wad one of the original coached with DPLL. I too have nothing but fond memories of my stint with the league and would love to see a reunion of the menm and players who were arround when the whole thing started in 1974. I also would like to see any and all of the players that I had the pleasure of working with. This web site might just be the tool to accomplish this. I have a lot of old team photos and rosters from those days. |

Entry ID: 1547014 | The beginning of DPLL was special. For those of us who went out to the open fields and built the first baseball fields and recall the faces of the kids on opening day will always remember those times. Our boys Scott and Todd used those team sport experiences as they went through HS and College and on to their careers. Scott has been in the military for close to 20 years and has been a fighter pilot in the navy and now flys the F-16 falcon in the Arizona national guard-Tucson Arizona. Todd chose a career in envirnomental management and works for the state of Florida as a manager living in Jensen Beach Florida.I will always be thank full for being a part of DPLL as a manager and a parent of boys who played in DPLL. Some of the original board members and parents have left us but I'm sure they would be proud that DPLL is alive and doing well. Will always remember the Elsters, Kubants, Evens and especially the Lahers ( just a few who made those times great in Goleta ). |

Entry ID: 1535733 | I remember my 1st year in DPLL was at Fairview elementary school then moved to the hollister fields the next year, wow that was 35 years ago, I had a lot of great memories. It would be cool to see some pictures of the past years on the history page. My son played his first year of ball last spring and it was really awesome to be able to pass on what DPLL had taught me. On a trip through Santa Barbara a few years ago I was disappointed in not seeing the old fields where they used to be. I believe I have some old team photos and newspaper clippings from back in the day if you are interested in doing more with the history page. Have a great upcoming season and keep up the great work. Entry ID: 1101595 | Kudos to the DPLL Board Members and scores of volunteers who make the little league experience rewarding for so many in our community. I have never worked with a more dedicated group of people who invest hours of behind the scene planning to make all of this happen. On behalf of Challenger kids and families - thank you for opening your hearts to include us in this experience. |

Entry ID: 1071373 | As one of the founders of DPLL, I'm proud to see that the traditions and values of Little League baseball have grown with the players we coached. I feel we all created a strong foundation for the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. We can see that now as we watch our former players sharing those same principles as they coach their own teams.
Remember, "Time out! Just Punch It."
