Also would like to say thanks for looking after my boys and family while I'm away. I was impressed with the way the boys played during April and look forward to my return. Tell the boys to keep their heads up, they are harder on themsleves than they should be just go out and play ball and knock 'em down one by one.

The posts on our home page ALL refer to the pic posted above the comments(i.e. they are what some people call politically incorrect HUMOR). I feel really sorry for people who have to look for the bad in everything. Our boys, parents, & coaches are all awesome, no matter what some of these "freakin'" people say!Only the strong survive...oh, I hope that didn't offend anyone! )

This shows us the things we need to learn and improve on....you guys had to learn alot of new stuff to move up for this tourney and I though you guys handled that well. I hated not being there on Sunday but momma V kept me updated. I also want to say that I really appreciate the "no excuses" attitude that this team brings to the table (coaches and players). If we get beat than we need to get better and that is the attitude that makes us who we are..YOUNGUNS!!! I also wanted to let DJ know that after a long weekend of meditation I have finally forgiven him for the batting lineup blunder in the first game and we are going to chalk that up to his "nerves" since I figured that he panicked since we moved up in age group....way to handle the pressure DJ. doh!! |

At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 7-year-old baseball players aside and asked, "Do you understand what cooperation is?
What a team is?"
The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
"Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?"
The little boy nodded yes.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse, attack the umpire, or call him a pecker-head. Do you understand all that?"
Again the little boy nodded.
He continued, "And when I take you out of the game so another boy gets a chance to play, it's not good sportsmanship to call your coach 'a dumb asshole' is it?"
Again the little boy nodded.
"Good," said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your mother."
