I was a member of the 1988 major Angels who won 1st place in league and then went on to win the city champs (now TOC) tournament. Under head coach chuck robertson, myself along with a core of friends/players such as dana white, trevon shavers, jason doty, the robertson bros. ryan williiams, james kennedy anthony johnson, brian merrell, evan dustin and dereck cox went on to represent wildwood's all star team who won and brought the district 43 championship back to wildwood. According to the info available on the web, which is not much, pertaining to district 43, wildwood majors has not captured another district championship since. i am now 40 years old and i can say that those times at doty and melton field playing for chuck and with that group of guys are some of my fondest memories. its neat to see it all come full circle as i watch my 11 year old boy just win the TOC for his league. in closing, it would be nice to see wildwood make a section on their website to recognize their past accomplishments as well as the present. i have noticed this being done on some of the other leagues webpages. i would be happy to provide pictures, old wildwood bulletins, newspaper boxscores/articles etc. thank you for reading this and go wildwood!
