Week Ten
It was a tough week on the field for the Outlaws. On the gridiron, our teams went 5-6. Eight teams in the playoffs, now three. Three teams in the Invitational, now only one remains.

Pee Wee moves on by winning 28-0 against Moorpark. Ranked #5, they will travel to North Oxnard to face the #4 seed.

Bantam Black played our cross-town rival Redskins at high noon and they were victorious 20-0. Calabasas comes to Canyon on Saturday in this quarter final contest. No doubt Black will be ready!

Midget Black traveld to Calabasas after their first round bye. It was a defensive game. Scoreless in the first half of play, Black scored in the third quarter and held the lead until late in the fourth. In a heartbreaker, Black lost 6-8

Midget Green was at home after their first round bye. They took the field against the Scv Seminoles. The visitors took a 18-0 lead and never looked back. Green was able to score early in the 3rd. However, too many players feeling the effects of illness just could not compete in this demanding playoff game. Final score 6-18

Junior Black is on course to play an all Warrior playoff schedule. Playing the same teams it did during the regular season. The first opponent-Redskins. In their first meeting, the game was called at the end of 3 quarters due to time running out. Black made a point to show they have what it takes to go all the way with a 64-8 victory.

Junior Gold traveled to Ventura for the night time game. Our boys gave everything the had but finished on the short end, 8-14

Junior Green won their Invitational game against Moorpark in the cool morning air of Canyon High 28-18. Green continues to "get it all working" as they pursue a spot in the Invitational Finals!

Senior Green finished the day at Canyon with the "game of the day". Burbank was a tenacious opponent. Fantastic defensive play kept this a low scoring contest. It also came down to the last posession to decide the winner. Burbank 12 Green 6

Senior Black wins a thriller at the Invitational game in Camarillo. The game was Camarillo's up until the last ten seconds. Black scored to make the score 20-16. Black stays in their uniforms, looking to play on Thanksgiving weekend.

Senior Gold just could not find the rythem as they fell to the Redskins 12-48. Gold scored on 2 big plays but struggled to get or keep any momentum during this night time Playoff match.

C.C.A.A. is proud of all of our players. We hope they had fun, made some friends, and learned about this fantastic game of football. For those moving on into high school, we believe we have given them the tools they need to succeed at that next level. For the younger ones, our wish is that the players return next year to stregthen the bonds they have made with new found friends and coaches. Outlaws do not measure success solely on wins. It is the goal of the Outlaw organization to produce youth of well-rounded skills and strong character. Congratulations to all on a great 2009 season!

Week Nine
Bantam Black started their playoffs by rolling over the competition just like they have been doing all season. The first round 40-8 win was the first of four games at Canyon this past weekend. Keep your eye on this team as they continue in the playoffs.

PeeWee Black finished the regular season with a victory on the road 34-14 over Simi Valley. They have a top ranking and will play their first round playoff game at Canyon High this Saturday 10am.

Bantam 'Mint' played the last home game on Saturday. Beating Calabasas 33-0. Unfortunately, all of the action on the field was not by the players. The matter is being investigated by the PYFL. The Outlaws were not involved. Let us all remember to be gracious quests wherever we may play.
The games are for the kids to play without adult interference. Remember, we all represent the Outlaws when we travel.

Bantam Gold suffered a big first round loss at Burbank 0-45 and are now done with their season. We hope the Bantam Gold players had fun, learned some football, and made some friends this season.

Both Midget Teams had a bye this week.

Jr. Black finished the regular season with a convincing win over Burbank 34-0. With about 5 players out on injury, Jr. Black showed the bench depth they have by over-whelming this 7-1 opponent. Jr. Black has the number 1 seed in the Junior Division and hopes to take advantage of it during the playoffs.

Jr. Green fell to Camarillo White 6-36 to end their regular season at home Saturday. The good news is they are participating in the Invitational Tournament starting Saturday. Keep playing hard. Show your Outlaw pride and spirit!!!! Go Green!!

Jr. Gold finished their year at home as well. They played the #2 ranked team in the Junior Division losing 0-56. Gold has suffered injuries to some key players that were too much to overcome. Like Jr. Green, they get to start a 2nd season at the Invitational this Saturday. We are proud of you and Good luck!

Senior Gold and Green had bye's this week.

Senior Black loss their 3rd in a row in a tight game against Burbank 24-26. This 1st round loss takes them out of the race to Newbury Park in December. Finishing 6-3 is a fine accomplishment. The season is not done however, as they will continue to play in the Invitational. Take it to em' Senior Black!!!

Week 8
The home schedule for week 8 was an all Outlaw vs. Warrior Day. We are happy to report the Outlaws took 4 of the 6 games played on Halloween! It was a day filled with excitement, great plays, and of course, some controversy. Thanks to all who came out to support your Outlaw Players and friends.

At this time, all the scores from the weekend were not available. They will be posted asap.

We are glad to announce that 10 of 12 Outlaw teams made the playoffs!!!
Bantam, Midget , and Senior Divisions start the playoffs November 7

In the Bantam Division:
Canyon Black earned the #2 seed
Canyon "Mint" is the #6
Canyon Gold secured the #13 seed

The Midget Division:
Canyon Black and Green earned the top two spots! They were ranked #1 and #2 respectively. They recieved a first round bye for their efforts.

The Senior Division:
Canyon Gold got the highest Outlaw rank #3 (bye)
Canyon Green right behind with #4. (bye)
Canyon Black is ranked #6

Pee Wees and Juniors have one more week of regular season games.

Week Seven
The week in a nutshell:

PeeWee Black keeps rolling on with a 34-0 win over Oxnard. PeeWee is 6-1 overall. Next week they play the warriors which will no doubt be a deciding factor in determining the Conference Champion.

Bantam Gold falls below .500 suffering a loss to the Chiefs. Bantam Gold faces Calabasas White on Saturday. A win here will anchor Coach De Leon's team in the playoffs!

Bantam Black shows why their 6-1 is for real with a 40-0 victory over Castiac. They have the South Central Conference won. They look to compete for the #1 seed by beating Calabasas Gold on Halloween.

Bantam White, now 5-2, had their way with the Blackhawks on week7 40-14. The next game is for the Conference Championship against the Redskins.

Midget Black rolled over the Chiefs 32-8. Coach Hoy and team will earn the #1 seed in the Midget Division if they win against Calabasas Silver on the 31st.

Midget Green improves to 5-2 at Calabasas Red with a 28-8 victory. Burbank Green is waiting to try to spoil Midget Green's claiming of the South National conference title.

Junior Black dominated the Apaches 32-0. The 7-0 Jr. Black team is in control of their own destiny as they have 2 games remaining and are looking forward to taking the #1 seed into the playoffs.

Junior Gold traveled to Agoura to play at high noon. They lost the gun fight 0-32. Now at 2-5 they must find a way to overcome injuries to get a spot in the playoffs. Jr. Gold will play Calabasas Red next week.

Junior Green also 2-5 loss to Calabasas 6-34. Jr. Green is in the same position as Gold, They need to fight hard and find a way to get back into the playoff picture. Like the Outlaws they are, we're sure they'll find a way to do it!

Senior Green improves to 6-1 after the victory over Burbank White 40-14. They will face the Seminoles to determine the Conference Champion!

Senior Black was shocked by Agoura Blue in a 6-20 defeat. Sr. Black has a 6-1 overall record. However, they find themselves in a 'seeding' dilema and winning next week against the Redskins is a must!

Senior Gold beat Agoura Gold under the lights 44-6 bringing thier record to 4-3. The are leading in a tough conference and will secure the South Central Conference Championship with a victory over the Warriors on halloween!

Week Three
That's what it would be like playing in Death Valley, California every week! Hot does not describe the conditions well enough.

Another big home stand this weekend with 6 games. Our Outlaws went 3-3. Here are the games I witnessed:

Midget Green 9am.
Facing a very good warrior team, Coach Nelson and the boys found themselves down 14-0. However, superior conditioning, coaching and determination turned the tables. Midget Green scored 24 unanswered points to win the game!!!! This team seems focused on playing in November.

Midget Black 11am.
Following the caliber of play shown by Midget Green, Coach Hoy's players justified their position as one of the top teams in the Midget Division. This game was never in doubt. The 20-0 halftime lead was a direct result of a strong defense and great offensive line work. This resulted in a 42-16 victory!
From the team manager:
Outlaws’ Midget Black triumph in scorching temperatures!
On Saturday at Canyon High there wasn’t a dry brow in the place. It was HOT, HOT, HOT! One hundred and seven degrees (107°) to be exact and the water girls & guys were busy. In spite of the blazing heat Midget Black pounced on the Castaic Cougars, 42-6, for their third straight win.
This Saturday, October 3rd, Midget Black prepares for the cool night air of the first “blackout” game (night game) of the season against Calabasas Red. Chances are it will be MUCH cooler as the only things shining will be the bright lights and our superstar Outlaws. Go Outlaws!

Senior Black 1pm.
This is when the heat was affecting everyone! Like the firstgame of the morning, Senior Black was down 12-0 early in the game to a big and strong Newbury Park team. Due to the extreme conditions, penalty flags were flying. Mostly for false starts on offensive. Reyes and McCormick kept their cool and guided the boys back to a 16-12 halftime lead. Shortly after the start of the 3rd quarter in was evident N.P. had nothing left! Senior Black went on to win 40-20

Senior Gold 3pm.
Hoping for a little relief from the high noon sun that never came, Senior Gold was locked into a fierce back and forth struggle. Thousand Oaks scored first but, Gold came right back to tie. This continue all through the game with Holding calls playing a dominate role. Sometimes we forget referees are human too! Tied 24-24 at the end of the 3rd, it seemed whoever had the ball last with enough time and luck on their side would win the game. And that's exactly what happened. Unfortunately, Senior Gold fell 32-24. Great effort on the field young men!

Junior Gold 5pm.
What didn't happen at this game? A very hard hitting Port Hueneme team built up a 16-0 lead. Then the sun went down. However, the lights did not come on. After about 20 minutes, Canyon High Maintenance was found and the lights turned on. And so did Junior Gold! On the 1st play they scored a touchdown! It was a pass play from Luevano to Han that surprised the Rhinos. Inspired, the defense stopped the opponents from scoring again. It wasn't enough. Junior Gold did not lose, they ran out of time...12-16

Junior Green 7pm.
Mimicking Senior Golds 3pm game, Coach Cole found his team in a back and forth skirmish. Big plays on offense. Great blocking, fine running, and good passing attempts were key in this game. Junior Green kept Ventura's defense off-balance all game. Down 14-20 in the 2nd half, Ventura's offense kept moving backward. Our defense made great plays. The referees kept throwing flags, keeping the ball in the Packers' possession. Another great effort from our Outlaws! Be proud. Stay hungry. Your wins will come! Not on this hot day........14-20

I would like to ask that all teams find someone each week to e-mail the football director and the webguy a 3 sentence summary of their respective game. We will use that information on this page to share highlights with the chapter. Thank you.

Week Four
October 5, 2009  --   There were four home games for the Outlaws this week. I am happy to report the home teams went 4-0 this weekend!

Junior Gold 9am:

The morning could not have started better for Junior Gold. On the first play from scrimmage, they scored on a 55 yard run. The rest of the game was not that easy. It turned out to be a hard fought battle in the trenches. Still a close game in the beginning of the 2nd half, the Outlaws came out with some adjustments. The coaches sent in the plays and the boys executed them very well. That combination gave Junior Gold what they needed to secure a victory over a worthy opponent 26 - 14. This win makes their record 2-2. Junior gold has not loss by more than 4 points. They sure look to be headed in the right direction to make it deep into the playoffs!

Junior Black 11am:

The 2008 Midget Superbowl Champions came to Harry Welsh Stadium looking to establish themselves as the team to beat this year in the Junior Division. They took the opening kick-off drive down to the 1 inch line! Junior Black's defense came up with a HUGE stop. The teams traded touchdowns and possessions. The scored was tied at 6 going into halftime. Junior Black started the 3rd quarter. Implementing halftime adjustments, the Outlaws held the ball for the first 7 minutes of the 3rd quarter. The defense, inspired, did not allow the opponent a 1st down the rest of the game! So, with some timely big plays and terrific ball control, Junior Black improved their record to 4-0 with a 22-6 victory!

Senior Black 1pm:

What a difference a week makes in the weather! In a nice mild afternoon, the Senior Black Outlaws stalled on their first possession giving their opponent good field position. Very early in the game they found themselves down 7-0. Senior Black does not rattle easy! They opened up their offense and scored 36 unanswered points. This team seems to be firing on all cylinders. Final score 36-7. They improved to 4-0 .Watch out for them late in November.

Senior Gold 3pm:

Talk about being ready. After 2 straight losses on the road. Senior Gold was ready! Jumping out in front at the start of the game. They even had as much as a 3 touchdown lead! As the sun eased down towards the western horizon, so did the energy level of Senior Gold. The visitors rallied to cut the lead to 6 points late in the 4th. Senior Gold found some extra energy. They drove down the field to score one more time. The defense responded by stopping the opponents come back effort. Senior Gold levels their record to 2-2 with a 38-26 victory. Do Not be fooled by the 2-2 record. They are on top of their conference and have played the 2nd toughest scheduled in the Senior Division so far this year! This team will be ready for the tough playoffs sure to come.

On the Road...
Junior Green vs. Apaches at Valencia 4pm.
Outlaw Victory.
Final Score 24-14. Although both teams battled back and forth, the Outlaws emerged victorious, shutting down the Apaches at their own home stadium. Our defense was on fire. It was a great game to watch. Our boys were amazing and fired up and it showed on the score board.
