    Late January Updates...
As the season approaches, "Manager" Chris Timpson has some good news to report. He is very close in securing the Hitmen a home field which will be used exclusively by them. It is possibly going to be Sachem North, Sachem East, or the Morris Ave. Park. Morris Ave. looks to be the front runner with well-manicured grounds over the summer, and lights for possible night games and practices. The Catch? Not much. Because I am getting these fields from an old coach, who is a board member for SYAG, we would need to give back somehow to the SYAG organization. SYAG and I agreed that the Long Island Hitmen, in return for fields, would have to put on 1 or 2 clinics for young ballplayers in SYAG Little League. This shouldn't be too bad, and will probably even be fun. We would basically play baseball with them and give them help with their game. In addition, we may have to work the Ed Rall Memorial tourney, which would only be one or two days. I think that is a great deal, and we would have unlimited access to the field. Although all this is probable, nothing is definite yet.

On top of all this, I am still trying to organize some fund raisers for the team umpire fees (which work out to 5 bucks a person, per game). I'm thinking of raffles, happy hours, and bp tourneys, but if anyone has ANY other ideas let me know.

Lastly, I have received most of the team money, but am still waiting on one or two people to make decisions. Dave Schreiber had to drop out this season due to a shoulder injury in his pitching arm. Not a problem though, we WILL have a full roster and jerseys will be ordered in the coming weeks. Any questions, get at me.

Meetings and Indoor Practices over Christmas Break
Hey guys, looks like we're closing in on a full team as I'm in contact with a few players now. We're going to have some meetings over Christmas break to discuss Uniforms, Home Fields, League/Uniform Fees, and a couple of other things. I'm also going to try to get us some indoor practices for some pitching, hitting, and fielding drills just to keep everyone loose in the off-season and to see where everyone is at. I'll keep everyone posted via e-mail. Also check back to this section regularly for updates, news, and uniform pictures.

    Practice November 21st!
November 21, 2007 - 01:00 PM --   Practice November 21st at 1 PM at the HOLBROOK COUNTRY CLUB to just go over some things, and to actually get some live bp/fielding. Bring anyone thats interested, there are still 3-5 slots open. Bring any balls you have, glove, bats, and anything else. Let me know if you have any questions...

    Practice/Cages over Thanksgiving Break...
November 14, 2007  --   Hey, I'm gonna try to get a day or two to go down to either the indoor cages by belport, or to get a little practice going. Please try to make it so you are familiar with some of the new teammates. I also want to get a better feel for where everyone wants to play and do throughout the season. I also strongly encourage all team members to hit the gym or do some kind of athletic activity and to throw a ball around/swing a bat whenever you can. I actually want to be competitive and not get slapped around. Lastly, its cheaper if we have a home field (and more convenient), so if you know anywhere that would help out our team, let me know.

    See you all soon...

    -Timpson

November 14, 2007  --   New Logo... Uniforms in the making... Thinking of a black hat with logo, black uniform with red/silver lettering, gray pants, and black socks. Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if you have any cheap places where we can get them done.
