Souderton outguns Wissahickon Boys, Girls

Wissahickon Boys kept it close for three periods, but were unable to block the 4th period outside shooting of Souderton's team. Tim Greer had a great game with 4 goals and 1 assist. To read more, see Game Results.

BeastSorry for the delay. Tournament rules are shown below. Some may want to car pool. Talk to your friends and we can arrange to "Go green"
Tournament Fees, Rules and Regulations
1). The team listed first should wear dark caps.
2). Each team will be permitted one time-out per game (1:00 in length).
3). Quarters are six minutes in length with 2:00 between each quarter.
4). Unfortunately all of the pools are not all deep therefore: If a player is deemed to be intentionally standing on the bottom for defensive advantage, the player may be ejected NFHS rules. As we are playing in shallow/deep pools, this helps to ensure the integrity of the game.
5). Overtime: two 1:30 periods. If still tied we will go with 1:30 periods until a team scores (sudden victory).
6). If two team’s records are tied for advancement to the flight rounds we will go with least goals allowed between the teams involved. That said there is NO NEED TO EVER RUN UP A SCORE ON AN OPPONENT, SPORTSMANSHIP IS STRESSED AT ALL TIMES IN THE TOURNAMENT. If you notice early on (especially in the preliminary round) that your opponent is over matched please use your discretion. Continue to play solid defense but please do not continue to rack up goals. One of my reasons to moving to three different flight championships after the preliminary round is to allow for competition for all teams that is more closely aligned with a given teams ability.
The top three teams advance in each gender. The top seed out of this site will be at Wilson on Saturday: The # 2 seed out of this site will be at Governor Mifflin on Saturday. The # 3 seed out of this site will be at Muhlenberg on Saturday.

2009 Fall Water Polo for 5th to 8th grade players

Do you like swimming? Sad to see the summer end? Want to learn a new water sport that’s very cool?
Then you should join the Trojan Aquatics fall water polo program!

Water polo is the oldest continuous Olympic team sport. The playing team consists of six field players and a goalkeeper. Like soccer or ice hockey, the objective is to move the ball toward the opposing team's goal, pass the ball to teammates, and shoot the ball into the net. Some say water polo is the toughest sport in the world. Wissahickon players think it's just fun. Watch the video and you decide.
Click here to see the Wissahickon Water polo video now.

Our fall program is for boys and girls in 5th to 8th grades. We expect most kids will have little or no experience but we have some good coaches who can help you learn the basics. If you can swim and can catch and throw a volleyball then you can play water polo. This is a low-key, learning program – you can attend as many practices and games as you want so it should fit in with other fall sports and events.

We are entered in the 2009 East Coast Middle School Water Polo League. There will be a separate boys division and girls division, with each team playing two games per competition Sunday. Games will be held September 20th, September 27th, October 9-10th (hosted by Pittsburgh Water Polo!), October 18th and October 25th Championships. Tournaments will start at 12pm and end no later than 5pm.

You must be a member of American Water Polo to participate. It's easy to sign up for the Fall session - use the online form by clicking the link in the upper right corner of this page. So come out and join the fun with the Trojan Aquatics fall water polo program.

Based on your feedback, it seems the after-school times are best for most players. Therefore, the schedule will change from week to week depending on pool availability. The current schedule is as follows.

Day Time
Fri 25-Sep 3-6pm
Sun 27-Sep North Penn High School tournament
Tue 29-Sep 415-6pm
Sat 3-Oct 8-12noon
Tue 6-Oct 415-6pm
Sat 10-Oct 8-12noon
Sun 11-Oct Pittsburgh - for those interested.
Sat 17-Oct 8-12noon
Sun 18-Oct Souderton tournament
Tue 20-Oct 415-6pm
Sat 24-Oct 8-10am - practice cancelled
Sun 25-Oct North Penn tournament
Tue 27-Oct 415-6pm

Practices will last about 1.5 to 2 hours. Since we have a small group, your child will get individual attention. It is also important that players attend the practices. The other players and the coach are counting on full participation. Please email me in advance if your child is not able to attend a practice. Parents will provide transport to and from the tournaments and hopefully stay to cheer on the new players.

Please email if you have questions or updates on your schedule.

Whites Road Scrimmage August 29th
A great day for both the new and experienced players. And we weren't burned to a crisp in the sun as in past years. This was a great warm-up for the upcoming season. Thanks to all the parents who came out to see the kids play.
