Teams for fall ball must declare and provide the managers contact info, days/times of the week for home games and field by 8/13/23 meeting.  A fall ball meeting is scheduled for 8/13/23 1pm at Scott Township Municipal Building at 301 Lindsay Road, Carnegie, PA 15106.  We will have divisions at 6u tball, 8u coach pitch, 10u slow, possibly 12u slow and 15u slow, 10u fast, 12u fast, and 15u fast.  Indicate if you have lights at your field so we can try to schedule teams at fields with lights as the it starts getting dark earlier later in the season.  We do not need rosters filled out.  There is a $25 cost for fall ball, except 6u which is being offered free.  If you cannot pay at the meeting send checks payable to CVC to Shane Franchick, 1414 Critchfield Dr, Bridgeville, PA 15017.  Games will start after the Labor Day holiday and go thru end of Oct.  You can start Emailing your declaration form anytime to CVCLEAGUE@HOTMAIL.COM or bring the form to meeting with the top of the form completed to declare a team.

  • Welcome new organizations joining the CVC from Ringgold, Greenfield, and Westwood Oakwood

  • Schedules will be created and uploaded to the site and emailed to the teams at latest a week before the season
  • Reminder that players ideally should play in the age group they are moving to in 2022 based on their new age calculation from USA Softball.  Age is of 8/31/23, but is not mandatory if a player benefits from another season at their Spring age group for fall only.  Roster rules do not apply for the fall season.

USA Softball 2024 Age Chart Effective Fall 2023/Spring 2024

The CVC, in the spring, voted to follow the USA Softball new age calculations which are listed on the chart below which will be effective in the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 Seasons.  Here is a breakdown of what the new dates mean.  The CVC and USA Softball will no longer determine the players age as of 1/1, the new date to detemine the players age will be 8/31.  If a player was born in Sept thru Dec, that basically means that in the upcoming fall (fall 2023) and spring season (Spring 2024) the player would be considered the same age as they were this year.  Organizations will individually decide if they want to use the new date of 8/31 or keep using the 1/1 date keeping players born Sept thru Dec with their their current group.  Some organizations will not want to hold back a player for a 3rd year at 8u, 10u or 12u, etc. and move them up with their teammates, which is fine.
