Fullerton Tournament By Anthony Darby 11yrs.
August 13, 2005 --
I rode with Patrick, his little brother and his grandmother to this tournament. On the freeway we passed Knotts Berry Farm and some other places I'd like to visit in the future. It didn't take a long time to arrive in Fullerton since this was a local tournament.
When we got there, I helped miss Connie with some of her things. Then we went to the gym and played our first game. We won, too! Then the 12 year olds played and won their game. We stayed in Fullerton for a while before heading back to Los Angeles. Once back in L.A. I went to Patrick's house to shoot around until my mom cam to pick me up.
Then I went home to prepare for the next day. I made sure I ate right and went to bed at a decent time. The next morning I woke up and got ready to go. When we arrived the 11yr. olds played a tough game and won. The 12yr. olds played a gamd and loss. The 11yr. olds played in this game too.
Overall the things I need to work on are my defense and where I am supposed to be on the court. I also need to stop getting mad when the officials foul me.

Bakersfield Tournament by Anthony Darby
August 23, 2005 --
First we met at St. Eugene to make sure all the team members had a ride to Bakersfield. Then after Coach Ron figured out I finally had my ride secured with Miss Daisie. She drove myself, her grandson and two other team members. On the way to Bakersfield, we stopped at Del taco to get something to eat. We stopped at In-and-out burgers too.
After 2 hours on the road, we aarrived at the hotel. Then Coach Ron gave each group their room keys. Then we went to the room to settle in. I was tired and ready to take a shower. So that's what we did. Once everyone was done we went to sleep, prepared for the next day.
When we woke up we got ready for our first game of the day. The eleven year olds played a good game. We won too! I was happy to be on the winning team. The high school team played too, and won their game. We played another 2 games and won one and lost one. Our team received me medals for our efforts.
After all the ames were over we went swimming back at the hotel. We actually swam until 10pm. After all the water play we went back to the room to rest up for next day. When we woke up we ate breakfast and went swimming again. Then we headed back to Los Angeles.
Overall, I had a good time with the whole Big Round Orange family. I look forward to the next tournament. I would also like to further develop my basketball and team playing skills.

San Diego Experience by Kirstie Gordan
June 2, 2005 --
My tournament experience was very rewarding in many ways. I expected to attend a very bland trip but instead I returned from a very jovial trip. I thought that it was was very comforting that I didn't have to masquerade as someone that I'm not because everyone accepted one another as they were. The entire team including coaches had fum together and enjoyed the experience together.
One of the main reasons why this trip was very memorable was the fact that we traveled to San Deigo. Even hough we didn't travel far it was still the worth the while. Since we were able to travel and spend time with friends, the experience beheld something that I would like to ndo again. Another thing that made this a great experience was the fact that you got a chance to play against that had different and better skills than most girls I ploay against during the regular season. In my opinion, this tournament offered a lot of good competition and really challenged me. It was also a great feeling to be cheered on by the other members of the traveling team and to also be able to cheer them on as well. It felt as though we were all one big supportive family.
One more thing that I wil remember about this trip is the responsibilities. Each member was responsible to carry themselves with a certain amount of respect and dignity during this trip. Since most parents didn't attend this trip each member of the team were responsible for themselves and their property. The responsibility one is given on a trip like this is very memorable. In conclusion, I think that this experience was very reputable and I will encourage others to become a part of our organization.

Palm Springs Tournament experience by Joshua White
May 13, 2005 --
Well basketball tournaments are always fun to go to. Well my past experience was really good it showed me a lot of things I need to work on and how to really go to the hole. Another thing is when I'm on the court always give my 110% no matter what. Well one other thing is when coach tells me to do something do it whether I want to or not. I always play as a team player and never argue while on the court with a team mate, because that causes some players to get frustrated and that's not right. Well one other this is always get back on defense no matter what. Well on staying in the hotels one thing that I have learned is never let people in your room because they might do something wrong and get you in trouble with them so I have to be careful. When coach says stay in your room and you come out you will get in trouble so always obey.
I really like traveling and going to tournaments like this because it really shows you what kind of competition you have out there and that you always need work, and never give up. Always do yur best.
