Englewood Cats Practice Times-Rules-Regulations
August 1, 2009  --
Practice begins Saturday, August 1st., 2009.      8am to 10:30a.m
August 3rd to September 4th, 2009. Practice is held from Monday through Friday. All participants should arrive by 5:45pm as practice will begin promptly at 6:00pm.

Practice will end at 8:15pm and parents MUST pick up their children no later than 8:30pm. We are NOT a babysitting service. If your child is not picked up by 8:45pm and we are not able to reach you, your child will be turned over to the Charlotte County Police.

Post Labor Day Practice: 9-7-2009
Practice will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Wednesday and Friday nights will be used only in case of a rain out during the week and at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

What to Wear and What to Bring.
Football Players:

For your first full week of practice wear gym shorts (no jeans or long pants), a tee shirt or practice jersey, FOOTBALL cleats (no baseball cleats, metal cleats or other athletic shoes or sneakers). If you wear eyeglasses, you should either wear contacts or get a set of prescription Rec Specs. NO JEWELRY of any kind.

Cheerleaders:

Gym Shorts (no jeans or long pants), a tee shirt or sports shirt and athletic shoes. Hair must be short or put up and NO JEWELRY of any kind.

What to Eat and Drink
Do NOT eat a big meal prior to practice. Eat something lite: noodles, salad, hot dog, etc.

Be HYDRATED. That means water PRIOR to practice.  And do it correctly. Drinking a half gallon of water at 5:45 is not the way to do it.

Sodas and sugar filled soft drinks are of NO value as it takes longer for the water in the drinks to be absorbed into your child's system.

Gatorade or Powerade is best used during and after practice, not before. You may bring your own Gatorade or Powerade or buy it at the Concession Stand.
