President's blog
Hello everyone,
Welcome back to all returning Holy Name Youth Football players and Cheerleaders, and a warm welcome to all our new players and cheerleaders for this upcoming 2009 season. We have had a very healthy increase in our participation in both football and cheerleading and this is a very encouraging sign for the program.
We are in the process of planning for the season. We have developed an organizational mission and coaching philosophy which can be reviewed on the web site. This is a important document for our group as it sets out our plans for the organization. Also, equipment orders are being placed, picture day is being finalized and a new Holy Name Youth Football / Cheerleading Program is in development. The program is a new and exciting addition to our organization that will provide parents a chance to wish their son or daughter good luck, businesses a place to advertise and will include team and cheerleading pictures.
Practice will begin Monday August 17 at the West Reading Playground. We will be handing our equipment the first week of August at Holy Name. Please keep checking the website for details regarding the equipment handout, physicals and possible mini camp in early August.
In preparing for the coming season, don't forget that if you can help and support the organization by volunteering your time to help set up and breakdown the field and selling food and drinks at the concession stand (very important fund raiser) or donating items for the concession stand it would be appreciated.
In closing, thank you for participating in our organization and we look forward to working with both the parents and children during this coming season.

Athletic Director's blog
My name is Joe Caruso and I am the Athletic Director for Holy Name Youth Football. I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2009 football & cheerleading season. I hope that you will agree that Holy Name Youth Football provides the best experience possible when it comes to youth football and cheerleading. I have personally been involved in coaching youth sports since 1996 and I really enjoy it. The Holy Name crew is made up of a diverse group of volunteers and we have a great time planning and delivering a top-notch football and cheerleading environment. For those of you that are new to youth sports, my recommendation for you is to get involved! We have many opportunities that need care and feeding. Items such as coaching, cooking, working the chain gang, game day reporting, picture taking, are some of the things that come to mind. If you think you might be willing to help out, please let me or any of the other board members know, we would love to have you on board!
If you have any questions regarding our coaches, our equipment, your child's playing time, or any other football related item, feel free to see me at practice or a game to discuss. I can also be reached via email at athleticdirector@holynameyouthfootball.com. I hope you are as excited as we are to start our fourth year of youth football & cheerleading!
Yours in football,
Joe Caruso
