The Long Island Sliders Baseball Club is to provide an instructional and competitive experience where players can concentrate on goal setting and personal performance above wins or losses. As coaches and as parents we insist on 110% on and off the field.
Mission Statement:
The Sliders coaching staff will be dedicated to the development of young baseball players.The Long Island Sliders provide opportunity and training for travel baseball players, while emphasizing fundamental skills, advanced techniques, good sportsmanship and fun.
Philosophy:
The Sliders are a youth Travel Baseball team for young players and their families who desire to participate in competitive baseball and must understand the time commitment that is necessary to develop the skills individually and collectively. The Sliders will provide the opportunity to develop the essential skills through experienced coaching, practice opportunities, and games against the top teams on Long Island.
Program Goals:
To enhance each players experience through reinforcement and mastery of basic fundamentals and the development of team concepts in a highly competitive environment.
1. To help athletes develop a sense of teamwork, pride, effort, self-discipline and self-motivation.
2. To provide expert coaches who genuinely care about the athletes and the team, and not just winning.
3. To learn to represent themselves, their parents, and the organization in a class manner.
