 Registrations and changes must be received by January 18, 2020.

  o    Checks should be made out to: Greater Rochester Cheerleading and Dance Championships in care of P.O. Box 309, N. Greece, NY 14515.

 

EVENT LOCATION – The Dome Arena, 2695 E Henrietta Rd, Henrietta, NY 14467

DATE/TIME – Saturday, January 25, 2020  8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m

 SPECTATORS – General Admission is $9. No re-entry

  ELIGIBILITY –Any Jr. High, Middle School, High School, or dance team is eligible to enter. You must follow National Federation rules (nfhs.org for updated rules).Still have questions? Visit our website or leave us a message on our voice mail.

 COMPETITION SURFACE –54’ X 42’ Tiffin Cheer Matt. Stunting and tumbling must be on the mat.

 ENTRY FEE - $100 per team

SCORING/TIE RULE

               The team with the least amount of point deductions will break the tie.

                If the tie cannot be broken, both teams will tie, and the next place will be eliminated

CHEER/DANCE DIVISIONS

 o    Time limit 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

 o   Divisions are split by competitive level and size.

 o     Please be sure to indicate if your Modified team is:  Mod A: 7-9th graders or Mod B: 7-8th graders only

 o    Co-ed teams will be placed in their own division(s) when able (GRC reserves the right to place Co-ed teams in any division) and will preclude size of team.

 o    The Dance Division is strictly dance with no stunts, tumbling/gymnastics, cheer or props. Only poms, signs, costumes and dance apparel are acceptable. This division can be a cheer squad, school dance team,  district dance team or a studio group of MIDDLE or HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL.

    THE CIRCLE OF CHAMPIONS ELITE EIGHT

 o    The eight highest scoring teams HIGH SCHOOL teams will be in the Elite Eight regardless of division or level.

 o    Each team will be recognized during the final ceremony with each team member receiving an Elite Eight t-shirt and will be recognized in our program next year and on our website.

 o    T shirts will be awarded to the number of team members registered on the registration form and will be picked up with score sheets at the end of the day.

 o    Additional t-shirts can be ordered at the end of the competition for the price of $15.

      EXTRAS – IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ!!

 o    We are not responsible for any delays that may occur due to unprofessionally burned CD’s. A time violation will occur. Music checks will occur only if time allows. PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CD WORKS!!! EVEN BETTER! USE AN IPOD or MP3 PLAYER!!

 o    WE WILL BE USING THE NYSPHSAA SCORE SHEETS AND RUBRICS FOR ALL CHEER DIVISIONS.

 o    We are not responsible for any injuries during the warm-up and/or competition. First aid will be on premises.

 o    We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

 o    Timing will begin when your team begins the actual routine. Cheerleaders may set themselves on the mat. Entrances are not judged and sidelines prior to entering the mat are prohibited.

 o    Follow the NYSPHSAA rules regarding Props

 o    We will be running divisions simultaneously.

 o    We will be posting squads competing on the website as we receive registrations so you can see participating teams.

 o    Competitive divisions and order of performance will be emailed to coaches and appear on our website.

 o    Concession stands will be open.

 o    No stickers, decals, or sequins on face or body.

 o    No glitter or dance rosin will be allowed. You will immediately be disqualified. Embedded glitter in eye make-up is ILLEGAL.

 o    No video or flash photography.

 o    COOLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT THE DOME ARENA. This is Arena policy and will be strictly enforced.

 o    Parents are not allowed in the door with teams. The front box office opens at 7:30 a.m.

 o    ONLY DESIGNATED COACHES AND ASSISTANTS WITH WRIST BANDS ARE ALLOWED IN THE PERFORMANCE AREA. EXTRA BANDS MAY BE PURCHASED FOR $10.

 o    ONLY APPROVED PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM THE PRESS OR PRE-APPROVED BY AN ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AND THE GRC COMPETITION DIRECTOR WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PERFORMING AREA. IF YOU HAVE A PHOTOGRAPHER THAT WILL BE ATTENDING, THEY MUST HAVE PRESS CREDENTIALS TO BE IN THE PERFORMING AREA. NO EXCEPTIONS.

 o    If you are approached by a photographer to take pictures of your team outside of the arena, please decline. They are not approved by the committee or athletic directors to be there. We have our own professional photographer taking pictures throughout the day on the floor and as teams exit directly outside of the performing area. Please alert security and a committee member if you are approached by any photographers without press credentials. Unauthorized photographers are trying to make money off of your team and have not been vetted. Do not put your team at risk!

 o    All teams will be photographed by our own, approved photographer, Varsity Media Productions.

 o    All teams will be videographed by our own videographer, Varsity Media Productions.

 o    Deductions will be taken for: exceeding time limit, failure to follow Federation rules, failure to follow any requirements .

o    The judges’ determinations are final.

 o    Cheering through music is not allowed, no is cheering with a back beat.
