Snack Shack - How to Sign up for your Shift

Parents/Guardians,

NBBSA is utilizing an online signup system for the Snack Shack called SignUp. This website allows parents/guardians to sign up for shifts online and sends an automated confirmation email as well as reminders.

It will be the parent/guardian’s responsibility to sign up for their shift. Volunteers must be ages 16 and older in order to work in the snack shack. No kids will be allowed in the snack shack during your shift. At the end of your shift, it will be the parent/guardians responsibility to sign in the book that they completed their shift. Evidence of completion will be signed by a League Official.

Volunteers will be assigned to work the window at the snack shack taking food orders. They will also be helping make coffee, pretzels and popcorn as needed, fill condiments, napkins/utensils and the fridge with drinks and replenish the candy as needed. Volunteers working the closing shifts will help put everything away, re-stock and clean. Instructions are posted in both snack shacks. Please review them when you arrive.

If the snack shack closes due to inclement weather or poor field conditions, the shifts will be canceled and parents will be instructed to sign up for a new shift.

Shifts are assigned in increments throughout the season (usually 2 weeks at a time). As shifts fill up, more dates will be added.

If you are not able to schedule a shift by the end of the season, please do not worry, there will be more opportunities during the Playoffs in June and Summer Tournaments that we host.

Both Snack Shacks are located at Community Park. The Baseball Snack Shack is located between Fields 1-4 and the Softball Snack Shack is located at the back of the park between Fields 5-6. There are separate schedules for both the baseball and softball snack shack.  You can choose to work at either.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The Snack Shacks are a fundraising venue for NBBSA and are solely run by volunteers. Therefore, we have created the following cancellation Policy:

Please do not cancel any shift online without contacting me at chrisandjake2000@yahoo.com and (Rosalie at rosalieberardo@gmail.com for the Baseball Shack and Jen at jbw1972@optonline.net for the Softball Shack). If you need to cancel, we are asking you to try and find a replacement first before notifying us. Reminder emails are sent 48 hours prior to your scheduled day and unfortunately, we cannot not accept any cancellations once that reminder is sent unless you have a replacement. Cancellations create a hardship for the organizers.

It is your responsibility to find a replacement if you cannot work your shift. Once you receive your reminder email and if you have a true emergency, you must call me at 732-522-3077.  If you fail to work your shift and do not have a replacement, you must call me before signing up for another shift or your work bond check will be cashed.

To sign up - here's how it works in 3 easy steps:

1. Click this link or copy this link to your browser to sign up for the Baseball Snack Shack: http://signup.com/go/aVs6Mb

Click this link or copy this link to your browser to sign up for the Softball Snack Shack:  http://signup.com/go/uTXiRK

2. Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on VolunteerSpot)

3. Sign up! Choose your spots - SignUp will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!

A message from SignUp: SignUp respects the privacy of its users. They collect the minimum information needed to provide service and will not sell, share or otherwise provide contact information you submit to SignUp to any third party. Participants and leaders may opt-in to share their information to receive special offers and discounts offered from our sponsors.

Thank you,

Dave Rosenberg
