Who We Are & What We Do
Beaumont Community Youth Basketball has one primary goal: Reach as many kids as possible with constructive opportunities – to participate in and learn the finer points of competitive basketball as well as educational and cultural curricula to give them hope for a much brighter future. We value Fair Play through equal opportunities that consistently reinforce respect of all individuals involved; Fun by encouraging camaraderie and friendship; and Development of youth and their supporting network. BCYB strives to educate and motivate each player to achieve their own individual level of success. Character development is stressed through teamwork and sportsmanship remembering that the primary goal is for the children to have fun.

Overview
Beaumont Community Youth Basketball’s initiative is to design and develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship and a love of the game for basketball. The objective of the program is to allow participants the opportunity to maximize their potential, while promoting the importance of youth basketball as a vehicle to build character, discipline and self-esteem.

Objectives
With a focus of Growing the Game, Beaumont Community Youth Basketball’s objectives are:

Participation

    Introduce and provide opportunities through BCYB that encourage participation of youths ages 5-17 across the Pass. BCYB focuses on developing young athletes, creating a passion for athletics and exposing the youth to the many benefits of organized basketball.


Education

    Address the need for young players to receive skill and developmental age appropriate coaching; while educating parents of their role towards their child’s development.


Development
Create a developmental pathway for coaches and officials.

Progression

    Provide encouragement for the youth that display increasing potential to pursue higher levels of performance.


VisionTo create opportunities in The Pass Area for all youths ages 5-17 to:

    Participate in organized basketball.

 

    Be taught by qualified and skilled instructors.

 

    Learn to compete in a supportive and development-focused environment.

 

    Improve the health and fitness of the youth to encourage healthy lifestyles.


With each program, participants will have an opportunity to learn both basketball lessons and drills dedicated to conditioning and skill development as well as recreational play and life skills.
