Wisconsin Streak Select Basketball
This is the develop and expose athletic component of the Wisconsin Streak Select Youth Organization. Our entire Organization has a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol or drug use. Any instances of use, will result in immediate dismissal from any component of our Organization, including the basketball program without refund.
 
In order to participate on a Streak team, players must be in good standing academically (at least a 2.5 GPA). There are no exceptions, as we value the importance of education.
 
 

Basketball program Philosophy

It is our intent to select boys and girls with a positive attitude, incredible character, and a desire to excel academically. The Wisconsin Streak Select coaches and mentors will work hard to develop players mentally and physically, bring out the leadership and team concept of each player, and provide life skills that will benefit each player for life after basketball.

It is our mission to provide a positive experience for players on and off the court, focus on the true concept of student-athlete, develop and build on skills and strengths, instill a sense of pride, provide opportunities to compete at the highest levels of youth basketball for college exposure, and focus on moving from good to great, as individuals and as a team!

Our organizational basketball component is a National travel program and member club of the Wisconsin AAU of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)--all youth and coaches. We have lofty expectations and provide incredible national exposure; showcasing talented kids who are positive and academically driven. Our teams play in some of the highest level tournaments, in front of some of the nation’s top college coaches.

 

We will have overall respect for ourselves as individuals, for our opponents on the basketball court, and we will always expect to be respected!

The Wisconsin Streak Select Basketball component of our Organization now enters it's seventh year partnering with the ‘True Blue Crew’ in the Milwaukee area--TBC Streak Select! This is an exciting time and Coach ‘K’, the Milwaukee are Director and TBC Founder, continues to build on the Streak brand by bringing his leadership, passion for youth development, and past and current successes with his student-athletes.

We believe that we win and lose as a team. We believe in Student-Athletes not athletes that happen to be students. Our overall goal is that "Each One Reach One To Teach One..." That simply means that when one succeeds, he reaches back and helps someone else succeed.
 
We strive to provide an opportunity for gifted Student-Athletes to not only learn and play the game of basketball, but more importantly learn how to achieve success in life. We display excellent sportsmanship, win or lose.

Style of Streak Play
We play an exciting brand of basketball that really attracts players, crowds, and coaches. Our teams are fundamentally sound, and teach half-court defense. This philosophy centers on sound teaching, repetition in drills, being focused, having structure, having court intelligence and awareness, being properly positioned, and having degrees of patience when required.
 
We respect, but do not fear our opponents. Our players are put into positions to succeed based on skill level, and are often allowed some offensive freedom. Basketball is not a perfect game, so we stress overcoming obstacles and working harder to get better. All of our teams will have the hunger necessary to excel on the court, after taking care of business in the classroom. We have a Streak Academy that focuses on academic and physical development, mentorship, and community service.

The Wisconsin Streak Select Organization focuses on real life skills that partner with the game of basketball. In essence, our participants strive to:
 
•Develop a sense of community, and take that to the community
•Strengthen academic skills through our Streak Academy
•Focus on overcoming obstacles
•Consistently have a good attitude on the court
•Work with others to achieve a common goal or goals
•Work through pressure, especially when faced with challenges
•Grow from mistakes
•Have good overall communication
•Work harder than you did the day before
•Be disciplined
•Set goals, and move onto the next one when one goal falls short
 
Being a true student-athlete is a vital component we seek in the players in our program. All participants must be in good academic standing with his school. Whether a player earns an athletic scholarship to any college or not, he/she will have to have a record of academic excellence in High School. Athletics is a potential means to an end—a scholarship to college. We stress high values, offer mentorship, and the best on-court opportunities available to expose our players to college coaches. It begins in the classroom, transcends to the rigors of practice under some great coaches, and is then displayed on the hardwood at high-level tournaments. Why have it any other way?
 
We value a team approach, and a respectful and coachable attitude. We do not tolerate anything under those principles! We partner with our parents, and discipline matters are addressed with the player first—privately. At the end of the day, we will have fun. We Demand the Best People, and Seek the Best Players!
 
After all, basketball is simply a game. A great game!

NCAA Certified Event Explanation
We will be playing in numerous tournaments that have been tied to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This is where the individual and team exposure reaches its peak.
 
All coaches will be certified with the NCAA, which is a requirement of these tournaments. The team roster will also be certified for each NCAA Certified tournament.
 
College coaches start seriously scouting talent at the 14U level, and follow teams and track high-level players in High School each year prior to college. There is nothing more exciting for young student-athletes than playing at the highest level of AAU, assessing where they match up with the nation’s elite ballers, while college coaches are lined up in the gyms watching you in action!

Medical, Liability, Birth Certificate
Each player must have a Wisconsin Streak Select parent-signed medical and liability form completed, and turned into the Parent Representative prior to the start of practices. Although each AAU added benefit membership will come with liability protection, it is important for our program to have medical information on hand for each player.
 
We will also keep a copy of each student-athlete’s birth certificate, as these are occasionally needed to present to tournament directors when the contesting of a player’s age occurs.
