Directions to Chain Field
FROM DOWNTOWN
Take I-16 west towards Macon. Take exit 164B (I-516/Lynes Parkway) towards Garden City. I-516 will eventually turn into Ga. 21. Once you pass Groves High School on your left, turn left on Big Hill Road (next to small fountain on left). At yield sign, take right on Colonial. Go over railroad tracks and take a right on Bud Brown. Chain Field will be near the end of the street on your left side.
FROM THE NORTH
Take I-95 south to exit 109 (Ga. 21 –Savannah/Port Wentworth). Take left on Ga. 21 (Augusta Road). Take right on Big Hill Road. At yield sign, take right on Colonial. Go over railroad tracks and take a right on Bud Brown. Chain Field will be near the end of the street on your left side.
FROM THE SOUTH
Take I-95 north to exit 99A (I-16 east-Savannah). Take exit 164B (I-516/Lynes Parkway) towards Garden City. I-516 will eventually turn into Ga. 21. FROM TYBEE ISLAND
Take U.S. Highway 80 west into Savannah. Take Truman Parkway south to Derenne Avenue. Exit off Truman Parkway and turn right on Derenne Avenue. Stay on Derenne Avenue as it become I-516. Stay on I-516 on it will eventually turn into Ga. 21. Once you pass Groves High School on your left, turn left on Big Hill Road (next to small fountain on left). At yield sign, take right on Colonial. Go over railroad tracks and take a right on Bud Brown. Chain Field will be near the end of the street on your left side.

All of our games will be played on Saturdays at different High School fields. Complete schedule will be posted on the Chain Fall League web site where you will be able to print your schedule. League starts September 13th and ends November 8th. We will play double headers with a two hour time limit. Each team will be responsible for a $50 admin/league fee and 50% of the officials and two baseballs per game. It is suggested that you pay the officials prior to the start of the game. Once the final schedule is posted, it will be the responsibility of the coaches to communicate any changes. Failure to communicate changes with reasonable notice may result in paying officials for a cancelled game. The cost for officials (per team/game) will be around $40-$45. Final schedule will be posted at www.leaguelineup.com/scorchers We will also make available a release form that you can use for your team. Host teams can contact Mike Alvarez to post rainouts on the Scorcher website. This may save your players a long drive to a wet field. Note: We will not make up rain-outs.
Rules: GHSA with the following exceptions:
Speed up rule if game ends in a tie. Each team will start with the player that made the last out on second. If game still tied after the extra inning, the game will end in a tie.
EH and DH is allowed. Teams can bat entire roster. An injured player will not result in an out if batting entire roster. Free substitution, but can’t bat out of order. A pitcher once removed can’t return to the mound.
We hope that you will use the fall league as instruction to help prepare your players for their school season. We all want to win our fair share of games, but we would like to see the emphasis on developing baseball players.
