Sharks Mission Statement
Founded in 2001, the Southern Indiana Sharks were created for the dedicated young athletes who desire above all else, an education, personal development and to excel in their respective athletic event.
The Sharks base their requirements on three A's.
1. Academics - each athlete agrees to work hard in school and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and strive to set the bar for other student athletes in their area. Those not meeting the require GPA agree to participate in tutoring provided by the SI Sharks to bring this academic requirement to par.
2. Attitude - the Sharks are pillars of their pier groups. They are mature in action, and dedicated to making the world a better place to live. The student athlete that calls himself a Southern Indiana Shark will not get into trouble on or off the playing field or court. They will also commit to a minimum of 40 hours community service, in giving back to the community that supports them.
3. Ability - dedication to the team is only superseded by two things, God and Family. Our student athletes compete with this group because they are elite athletes, elite students and elite individuals. The dedication to their sport, and to their team comes with a price in many cases. It's not easy to separate from a small town, or from childhood friends in order to compete on a higher level. There are countless hours of practice, travel and hard work in order to excel at their craft.
It is the Southern Indiana Sharks mission to give all the kids in the area with the academic fortitude, and overall attitude and the elite ability in their craft, the opportunity to compete in front of a national audience. The SI Sharks organization desires above all else to assist these unique athletes in the opportunity to compete in athletics throughout their lives and play the sport they love on a collegiate level.
Southern Indiana Basketball is a proud heritage, that has wained over the years. Through our groups dedication to the 3 A's we hope to provide opportunity through sports for our participants to obtain college opportunity through their respective athletic talent. We are dedicated to bringing PRIDE back to Southern Indiana Basketball and other respective athletic opportunities.
It is our GOAL to get every athlete that passes through the Southern Indiana Sharks from the 7th grade through high school a college scholarship!
