HOOPS SCHOLAR PROGRAM

The Staten Island Musketeers is dedicated to improving the game and skills of our basketball players and teams through a combination of skills development, good sportsmanship, and academic support. Our AAU basketball program recognizes that successful High School basketball players need to be equally committed to their academic success in order to ensure they have the opportunity to be recruited by talent scouts and to possibly earn a college scholarship. If a student is committed to their development, we are committed to showcase their talent at tournaments where DI, DII and DIII scouts are actively recruiting. Even with skills development and academic support, many players are unable to reach the financial obligation to successfully perform on a travel program on a national stage.

The Hoops Scholar Program, which is design to fund The Musketeers Scholar Team, seeks to provide the financial assistance to players who have earn our respect, admiration, and support. Scholar teams are comprised of the best of the best. Earning a position on these elite squads of Juniors and Seniors in High School requires a minimum GPA 2.5= 75% (base upon DIII requirement standards) excellent conduct, dedication to self-improvement and enrollment if needed in our academic programs. Players on the Hoops Scholar Team pay no enrollment fee or Hotel expense for tournament play. Players are only responsible for thier transportation and personal expenses, such as meals. Student Report Cards and progress reports are monitored by the team coaches. Student who grades drops below a 2.5 GPA (75%) or recieve a poor conduct grades are subject to game suspension. Students with a failing GPA will be immediately dismissed from the team. 

Hosting two teams of this caliber requires immense financial support. Your support of the Staten Island Musketeers by generously providing gym time, purchasing of raffle tickets sponsoring a child or other ways allow us to keep changing the lives of our players.
