Catoctin Downs the Falcons 10-2 in Region Final
May 21, 2004 --
The Catoctin Cougars jumped out to an early 6 run lead and went on to defeat the Falcons 10-2 in the 1A South Region Final. The Falcons had their chances including a bases loaded rally in the 4th, and runners in scoring position in the 7th inning. However, they managed only 2 runs in those rallys. Chris Kramek led the Falcons in hits going 3 for 4, and Kevin White pitched two solid innings in relief.
In the 4th, Chris Kramek led off with a single, stole second and scored on Kevin White's single to center. Phillip Howard reached first on an error, and Matt Williquette walked to load the bases with no outs. Two strikeouts and a ground out ended the rally.
In the 7th, Ryan Lawrence reached first after being hit by a pitch, and Kevin Campbell doubled down the right field line scoring Lawrence. A walk to Robert Tedeschi put men on first and second with no outs. Chris Kramek hit a high pop up to short center for a single, but Campbell was thrown out at third. A ground out and a strikeout ended the rally.

Falcons Win 1A Semifinal Playoff Game 10-8
May 19, 2004 --
The Falcons overwhelmed Southern H.S. by pounding out 8 hits and scoring 8 runs in the first three innings, and then hung on for a 10-8 win. Ryan Lawrence pitched well in the first 3 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run for the win. When he got in trouble with 2 out in the 4th, Aaron Gilbert came in and pitched the final 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs for the save. This is the second playoff game in a row in which Aaron has come in during the middle of the game and held the opponent in check in a PHS win.
The Falcons had their highest hit total of the season (13 Hits), and were led by Robert Tedeschi (3 for 4 with 2 runs scored), Phillip Howard (2 for 3 with two triples and 3 runs scored), and Chris Kramek (2 for 3 with 3 runs scored). Roger Torres, a recent callup from the JV, played a reserve roll in the outfield and went 2 for 2. Ryan Lawrence singled in two runs in the first inning and executed a suicide squeeze bunt for another RBI in the 3rd.

Falcons Win 7-5 in a "Walk"
May 17, 2004 --
In the second round of the 1A South Region playoff, the Falcons came from 4 runs down to defeat Forest Park H. S. 7-5 in a "walk". The Forester pitchers walked 7 PHS batters in the 6th inning allowing 6 Falcon runners to score. Senior Aaron Gilbert came on in the fifth inning to put down a Forest Park rally, and then pitched a solid sixth inning for the win. Junior Ryan Lawrence pitched the seventh inning, allowing no runs for the save.

Falcons Hang On to Beat Watkins Mill 3-2

PHS won its second game of the year in grand fashion with a putout at home plate preventing the tying run from scoring in the top of the 7th inning. Sophmore Sean Foy picked up a dropped ball at first and fired it to catcher, Junior Chris Dimopoulos who applied the tag for the final out of the game. Sophmore Matt Williquette was solid on the mound holding Watkins Mill to 4 hits and 1 earned run in his 7 inning stint. Junior Chris Kramek and Junior Kevin White had two hits apiece in the win. Recent JV call-up, Sophmore Bobby Dolan had a key double in the 6th inning scoring Ryan Lawrence with what turned out to be the winning run.
The Falcons bats have come alive in the last 8 games with Chris Kramek (.400 BA and 3 doubles), Kevin White (.450 BA and 4 doubles and a HR in the last 6 games), and Matt Williquette (.467 BA in the last 6 games) leading the charge.

The Falcons Lose to Walter Johnson 7-2
May 10, 2004 --
The Falcons held Walter Johnson to 5 hits, but lose the game 7-2. Senior Aaron Gilbert pitched well in relief, giving the Falcons 3 strong innings allowing WJ only one hit. Junior Chris Kramek led the Falcons with 3 hits in 4 trips, including a double. Sophmore Robert Tedeschi contributed 2 hits for PHS.

Sherwood Downs a Resilient Falcons Team 9-5
May 6, 2004 --
The Falcons played well against a Sherwood team that is one of the top ranked 4A baseball programs in Montgomery County losing 9-5. Kevin White was a one man wrecking crew for the Falcons with 3 hits in 4 at bats, including 2 doubles and a HR. In addition, he scored three of the Falcons 5 runs and had 2 RBI. Matt Williquette contributed two singles and Phillip Howard had 2 RBI.

Wooton Downs Falcons 12-2
May 1, 2004 --
Wooton broke open a close game in the 4th inning by scoring 6 runs and beating the Falcons 12-2. The Falcons had 6 hits including an RBI double by Robert Tedeschi.

Falcons Stretch a Good Northwest Team to 8, but Lose 4-3
April 29, 2006 --
The Poolesville Falcons continue to improve. Sophmore Matt Williquette pitched a masterful game holding a potent Northwest team to 9 hits and 3 earned runs in 8 innings this evening. In addition, Matt went 2 for 3 to help keep the Falcons in the game. Chris Kramek contributed 2 hits and two RBI. The Falcons pounded out 10 hits, and were led by Kevin White's three hits. Chris Dimopoulos played well in left field by tracking down hits in the gaps, and holding Northwest batters to singles rather than extra base hits.

Falcons Rally in 7th Falls Short

The Falcons rallied with 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, but lost to the Einstein Titans 10-9. Kevin White entered the game in relief, and pitched a masterful game giving up no earned runs on 4 hits and six strikeouts. Chris Dimopoulos came in the game as a defensive replacement, and made a spectacular throw from center-field to keep a critical Einstein run from scoring. Chris Kramek led the Falcons with 2 hits, and Phil Howard contributed a key double and 2 RBI in the 7th inning rally. Steve Austin played well behind the plate, scored two runs and had an RBI.

April 22, 2004 --
Poolesville beat Kennedy 5-4 on an overcast Thursday afternoon. Ryan Lawrence pitched well, 7 innings, 1 earned run, and 2 hits in the win. After Kennedy tied it in the fifth, he allowed no hits and no runs in the last two innings to seal the victory. Kevin Campbell scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Paint Branch Beats Poolesville 19-6
April 17, 2004 --
Even with the loss to a top 4A program, Poolesville continued to hit well. Kevin Campbell and Matt Williquette led the Falcons with 2 hits apiece.

Rockville Beats Falcons Late 9-2
April 16, 2004 --
The Falcons played well and were leading going into the last of the fifth inning when Rockville exploded for 4 runs. Kevin Campbell and Chris Kramek each had two singles as the Falcons totaled 9 hits for the game. Kevin White, Robert Tedeschi, and Ryan Lawrence contributed doubles in the game.

B-CC Downs Poolesville 9-0
Matt Ray pitched well in his first start of the season. Matt Williquette, just recently added to the varsity from JV, has had a hot bat for the Falcons (.500).

Wheaton 6 Falcons 0
March 31, 2004 --
Falcons lose to Wheaton 6-0. Ryan Lawrence gave up 2 earned runs in the first, then settled down to keep the Falcons in the game until he ran out of gas in the sixth. Poolesville had runners in scoring position three times in the first four innings, but didn't score. Kevin Campbell with two hits (.357) and Matt Ray (.333) continued to hit well for the PHS.

Seneca Valley 6 Falcons 1
March 29, 2004 --
The Falcons showed some signs of improvement but lost to Seneca Valley 6-1 on a windy spring afternoon in Poolesville. The Falcons are 0-4 for the season with two more games away this week before Spring Break.......Bright note: Kevin White is starting to find the strike zone as a pitcher, having good control this game, and picking up some inside strikes on some good hitters.

Falcons produced 2 runs on 5 hits....but...allowed 8 runs on 6 errors......
The Falcons will try to turn it around when they face Seneca Valley at home Monday at 3:30pm.

Damascus 19 Falcons 0
March 24, 2004 --
The Falcons are still looking for a spark to start the 2004 season. They go to 0-2 for the season losing to a mature, talented,heavy hitting 4A Damascus Hornet team.
The Falcons will try to get in the win column Friday playing the Rockville Rams at PHS....

Richard Montgomery 3 Falcons 0
March 22, 2004 --
On a sunny, bright, cold spring afternoon the Falcons opened their 2004 season with a loss to Richard Montgomery 3-0.
Andrew Ramey pitched an excellent complete game allowing no earned runs, 4 strikeouts, 1 base on balls, on 5 hits. The runs scored were in two out situations in the bottom of the 3rd and 4th innings where a good defensive play by the Falcons could have kept the Rockets scoreless.
The young Falcons were held to one hit and had runners in scoring positions late in game but were shutout.
The Falcons will be on the road again Wednesday to face the tough Damascus Hornets.

Falcons show signs of growth!
March 9, 2004 --
On a bright and sunny spring afternoon in Poolesville the Falcons showed signs of growth in their scrimmage with Watkins Mill. Infielders were making plays, outfielders were tracking down pop flys, new pitchers were finding the strike zone, and batters were hitting the ball.....The Coaches were pleased with the Falcons arrival....

Falcons open 2004 Season with scrimmage against Wooton

The Falcons were a little rusty in their first practice scrimmage game of the 2004 season against Wooton. With only 4 days of practice the Falcons pitching looked strong, the outfielders made some good plays, the infielders made a few errors, and the Falcons' bats were silent......
