David started his running career as a Golden Eagle at GlenOak High School, where he competed for three years of cross country and four years of track. After earning his bachelors degree from Kent State in 2009, his love of running led him eagerly to pursue getting into the federal league coaching arena. He began volunteering for the boys and girls cross country teams in 2009 at Canton McKinley High School. In 2010, he was hired as an assistant coach for both track (distance) and cross country. In June 2012, David was hired at Hoover Middle School and is currently a resource room teacher. He wanted to continue being part the running programs. In late July, an opportunity to interview for the head coach of the Hoover Girls Cross Country team presented itself. David is proudly coming in as the new head coach for the high school girls where he hopes to uphold Hoover’s tradition of excellence.

Katelyn's running career began in grade school in Garrettsville, Ohio where she competed in athletics throughout her four high school years (volleyball, basketball, track).  She graduated from Walsh University where she ran track and studied to be an Intervention Specialist.  Post college, Katelyn has coached track since 2010 and currently works as an Intervention Specialist at Hoover High School.  Coach Paul is very excited to work with the Hoover XC team and she looks forward to the upcoming season as well as the success it holds.
