Sturgeon Advance to Championship Game!!!
September 9, 2007  --
Behind 2 strong pitching performances, the Sturgeon won their first 2 rounds setting up a showdown with the Ashwaubenon A's for the NEW MSBL league championship on Saturday September 15th at 5:30 pm.

Friday night, bolstered by a 7 run 2nd inning, Jason Longley scattered only 2 runs over 7 gutsy innings, and the Sturgeon cruised to an 11-3 victory, defeating the Kewaunee Bayside Eagles, and moving them on to the next round on Saturday.

The following day, the Sturgeon (10-5) faced the Appleton Cubs (10-5) who edged them out for the #2 seed by virtue of a 2-1 regular season record against the Sturgeon.  In this meeting, however; the Sturgeon jumped out with a 2 run top of the first inning which proved to be all that starting pitcher Adam Adamovich would need as he pitched a complete game shutout.  The Sturgeon added 4 more insurance runs in the 6th, and another in the 8th to cement the victory.

In the other Semi-final game Saturday, the Ashwaubenon A's (12-3) defeated the Appleton Cardinals (3-12) 12-8.

The Championship game matches up the top 2 offensive, and top 2 defensive teams.  Offensively, the Sturgeon led the league with 151 runs scored, and the A's were second with 148.  Defensively the A's allowed the fewest runs (75), and the Sturgeon the second fewest (81).

Sturgeon Win Title in First Season!!!!!!!!
September 15, 2007  --
The Sturgeon won the NEW MSBL Championship in convincing style Saturday night.  Out scoring their opponents 30-5 during their playoff run, the Sturgeon continued their regular season offensive success.

Dominating from the first at bat, the Sturgeon tallied 11 runs over the first 3 frames taking an commanding 11-0 lead.  Once again, Adam Adamovich was in control of the game.  He shut down an explosive A's lineup, allowing only 4 hits all game.  2 unearned runs in the 9th inning prevented the second consecutive complete game shutout.  The entire Sturgeon lineup contributed to the win, and the game results can be found under the results link to the left.

We would like to thank all of our families, friends, supporters, and sponsors.  This championship would not be possible if not for all the contributions, and support you have given to us this year.

We will see you all again at the ball park next year as we begin our defense of the league championship.
