Scripps Ranch Juniors Champion Mets (hosted by Coronado Little League)

Scripps Ranch National Majors Champion Diamondbacks (hosted by Peninsula Little League) Team Photo Album
  • Scripps Ranch National beat Point.Loma 12-0 in 4 innings behind the great pitching performances by K. Vecchio, R. Madsen and B. Cleary, who combined for a three hit 10 strikeout day. The offense was lead by Madsen(2-4), C. Bailey(3-3), Cleary(2-3), Vecchio(3-4) and P. McGloughlin(2-2) with Madsen hitting the game's only homerun. Every person on the team scored a run and N. Brunetto hit a ground rule 2RBI double to plate the critical 10th run.
  • Scripps Ranch National beat Presidio 10-5 to advance to the semi-final game against Clairemont Mesa on Monday. K. Vecchio, R. Madsen and B. Cleary combined pitching effort held Presidio to 5 hits, three earned runs and seven strikeouts. B. Cleary(4-4, HR, 2 2B, 3 R's and 4 RBI), C. Bailey(3-4, 2b, 4 R's), and J. Cleary(2-4, 2B) lead the offense.
  • Scripps Ranch National beat Clairemont Mesa 11-1 in 5 innings behind the awesome pitching of K. Vecchio who went the distance allowing only 2 hits and 9 strikeouts. The offense was ignited by P. Mcgloughlin's solo homerun and R. McCalister's ground rule, 2-RBI double. B. Cleary, C. Bailey and J.Cleary each went 2-3 and every player in the lineup had a base hit to spur the offense. The team has outscored its opponents 33-6 and will face SR American in the championship game.
  • Scripps Ranch National beat Scripps Ranch American in an all Scripps TOC Championship game. R. Madsen pitched a gem of a game and was backed offensively with multiple hits by P. Mcgloughlin(4-4 3 2B's) T.Blake(2-3), C. Bailey (3-3, 2 2B's), K. Vecchio (3-3 2b), B Cleary (3-4 2 2B's, HR(GS)) and Ryan Madsen (2-4 2B). Congrats to both teams on a great season!
Scripps Ranch American Majors Champion White Sox (hosted by Peninsula Little League) Team Photo Album
  • The White Sox beat Mira Mesa West Little League’s Red Sox team in the first round of the TOC by a score of 13 to 1.  D. Weiner, N. Garcia, and R. Booth combined on the pitching effort to allow just 1 run on 2 hits.  White Sox bats came alive scoring 13 runs on 15 hits.  The game was capped off in the bottom of the fifth inning when Booth hit a walk-off grand slam to end the game by Mercy Rule.
  • The White Sox beat University City Little League’s A’s team in the second round of the TOC by a score of 13-9 to advance to the Semi-finals.  The White Sox were up 12-3 after 4 innings, but then saw the A’s rally back with six runs in the 5th to make the game too close for comfort.  J. Mullin, back for a couple of days from his summer travels, joined the team and pitched the 1st shutout inning, after which R. Booth took over as the workhorse for the bulk of the game. N. Garcia relieved in the 5th inning and D. Weiner shut things down in the 6th.  Once again, the bats came alive for the White Sox with contributions throughout the batting order.
  • The White Sox advanced to the TOC Championship game with a 1-0 win over the Padres from Clairemont Hilltoppers Little League. Capping off a decorated Little League career, J. Mullin led the team by pitching 5 1/3 scoreless innings (12 strikeouts) before being relieved by 10 year old N. Garcia who retired the last two batters. The veteran Mullin and the young Garcia combined to pitch the team’s second no-hitter of the season. Garcia scored the only White Sox run after getting on base with a triple in the third inning and being driven home on a double by B. Warren. Many White Sox players got their bats on the ball, but the Padres defense seemed to always be there to make the play. The White Sox (without the Mullin Bros. and R. Norberg) will play in the Championship game on Tuesday against the winner of Monday’s TOC match-up between Scripps Ranch National and Clairemont Mesa.
  • The White Sox lost in the Championship game to the SRLL National D-backs. The D-back’s solid pitching and overwhelming hitting was just too much for the White Sox to handle. The game was called on Mercy Rule after the 4th inning. With several key players missing for the tournament, it was a huge accomplishment for the White Sox to make it to the finals, even if they had to settle for a second place finish. The highlight of the game for the White Sox was M. Leahy hitting his first home run. Congratulations to both teams on a great season, and for doing such a great job of representing yourselves and Scripps Ranch!

Scripps Ranch National
AAA Champion Cardinals (hosted by Point Loma Little League)
  • Led by great pitching and solid offense, the AAA Cardinals beat Mira Mesa west Little League 10-0 after 4 innings.  M. Remish (3 innings) and K. Waczek combined for 4 perfect innings (no hits, no one reached base, including 8 K's.)  The kids looked great.
  • Scripps Ranch National Minors Cardinals won a close one tonight over the Peninsula Cardinals -- who were apparently 17-0 during the regular season -- by a score of 5-4. K. Waczek pitched a solid 4-1/3 innings before yielding to L. Wolmer in the 5th. 3 errors in the 3rd cost Waczek his shutout and put us in a 4-2 hole. Wolmer held in the 5th and M. Remish held in the 6th, while the Cardinals battled back, picking up one run in the 5th, and two in the sixth on a four hit inning, to win the game. A. Feiner got the game winning hit.
  • The Minors Cardinals beat a classy Point Loma team 10-0 in 4 innings. Point Loma had scored 22 runs in its two prior games but Micheal R. held them to a 3 hit, 8 strikeout shutout. Cardinal defense had a flawless defensive game with no errors and Cardinal offense was hot with 5 singles (Michael R., Mitch D., Andrew F., Stephen L., and Sean H.) and 4 doubles (Kevin W., Lance W., Daniel R. and Spencer K.) Sean H. had the crucial hit to bring in the 10th run in the bottom of the 4th.
  • The Minors Cardinals won the Minors TOC Championship 9-3 over the Rancho Penasquitos North Pirates. Kevin W. pitched the entire game for the Cardinals, throwing a 3-hitter, on 9 strikeouts, allowing only 5 R.P. North Pirates to reach base. The Cardinals had 8 hits [Kevin W., Michael R. (triple & 2 RBI's), Brendan J. (triple & single, 2 RBI), Lance W. (1 RBI), Daniel R. (4 RBI), Andrew L. (double), Sean H., and Colton R.] There were too many great defensive plays to list. The R.P. North Pirates were a solid team, with classy coaches and Point Loma did an awesome job hosting the Minors TOC Tournament.
Scripps Ranch American AAA Champion A's (hosted by Point Loma Little League)
  • The Minors Scripps Ranch American team lost 5-3 to Rancho Penasquitos North. It was a tough game in the field and PQ had a strong pitcher that pitched all but two outs. S. Earle hit a Home Run and was one of the game’s highlights for Scripps Ranch.
