What is AAU Youth Basketball?

The OFFICIAL Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. AAU basketball features select teams of the nation’s greatest boy and girl amateur basketball players. (Excerpt taken from the AAU Website)

The Wisconsin Streak Select organization plays OFFICIAL AAU basketball, as a Member club of the Wisconsin AAU! Each player and coach will be official card carrying AAU members afforded all of the National privileges, included added benefit liability for our student-athletes. We emphasize life skills, faith and trust, competition, attitude, development, respect, team attitude, and provide student-athletes with opportunities for exposure to NCAA coaches at the various NCAA certified events we will participate in. See their link on our website.

Parent Representatives and Fundraising Directors

Our parent representatives send out most team-related correspondence regarding the Wisconsin Streak Select. Our parent reps communicate with parents as needs arise (e.g., travel and hotel information, tourney time or location changes, request for paperwork, etc.). Parent reps also keep team rosters and copies of birth certificates, liability waivers, and academic grades on hand.

We also have Streak Fundraising and Volunteerism Directors. These individuals are responsible for researching, developing, and presenting possible fundraising and volunteering ideas to the Executive Director. Due to the high youth population in the area, fundraising is very challenging. However, we routinely attempt new projects, and our Directors are responsible for presenting the best opportunities to the program.

Board Information

As a 501 ©3 Charitable organization, the Wisconsin Streak Select Organization has an official working Board. For more detailed information, please contact the Executive Director. Our Board is listed on our website, as well.

Team Marketing and Communications

The Wisconsin Streak Select Organization has a Director of Marketing and Communications that is responsible for the official website, and our Facebook page.

We also provide a program write-up and our website link to Wissports.net (Wisconsin Sports Network), Scouts.com, NY2LA.com, Rivals.com, and other team scouting and rating services. Area High Schools and many colleges are already familiar with our team and program efforts.

We also provide our information to the officials at AAU Nationals so that we may receive the proper recognition for our efforts during the season, as we work toward national rankings. Because our players and teams have to be listed with the NCAA, they also receive our website and Facebook information.
