Pro Power Rankings (as of 04/10/2009)
Here are the week 6 rankings, provided by a guest contributor:
1) Brewers - Hard to not give the one spot to a team without a loss. Very solid all around team. Its not often that you see any team in an adult league go games without making errors. They have made it to the half way point with out a loss.. can they finish off the perfect season? Or will their second time through their division spell a defeat. Only time will tell at this point.
2) Hurricanes - A week one loss has this team hoping for help to overcome the Brewers. Good wins against the Knights and Beavers give them the confidence they need to make some noise when the playoffs role around, while mercy rule wins against the Coyotes and Cobras show that the team can beat the teams they are supposed to. They can't look past the Bandits or Outfitters, but with Sam Cohoon starting games they will be difficult to beat. Now they just have to get things going the next time they play the Brewers and not let errors ruin another game.
3) Matadors - A strong all around team that still has its eye on a Championship. Mike Friedemann has put together a strong team when all cylinders are clicking. Jeremy and Taylor seem to be a decent 1-2 punch in the rotation while the lineup starting with Jarrett and Tim seem to get that team going right away. They slipped a little against the Knights and Brewers, but a big win against the Beavers this past week keeps them in the 3 spot. A win over the Hurricanes in week one is also a bright spot on their resume, while a huge win over an apparently surging Outfitters team also is a bright spot. This team can definitely do some damage.
4) Knights - The team is on a 3 game winning streak, but wins by the Mats and Canes keep them in the 4 slot. Mercy wins over the Bandits and Cobras show that the team can rack up runs, while a 1-run win over the Mats show that they are capable of winning the close ones. There is a solid lineup here, and the defense allows very few errors.
5) Outfitters - Some might see this as a shock seeing as they aren't in 1st place in their division, but after a strong performance against the Brewers and a Beaver loss to the Mats they slide into the 5 spot. I haven't seen this team play but I have heard good things from opposing managers. Some might see them as a sleeper when the playoffs come around, but I see them winning their division.
