Officials Code Of Conduct

The San Joaquin Valley Football League's Code Of Conduct is simple; always act and speak in a professional non-abrasive manner that is fair and consistent for all parties. In other words;
  • Be thorough in your explanation of the rules.
  • Act with confidence while not coming off as arrogant
  • Be consistent in your officiating by calling a fair and unbiased game.
  • Be professional.
  • Be an excellent communicator.
Thorough knowledge and communication is  the key to a successful relationship with the teams in the San Joaquin Valley Football League.

The SJVFL wants a reputation for working with game day officials that is impeccable. We ensure that we pay a reasonable cost to our officials that work the games during the season including preseason, regular season and post season.

Because game day officials receive monetary compensation for their work; it is important that our officials understand the importance of having thorough knowledge of the rules of both the San Joaquin Valley Football League and the game as well as how to manage the game in a manner that does not effect the outcome.

Officials must know how to walk that fine line of keeping control of the game while at the same time letting the players play within the rules that will keep them safe.
