Z2004-05 Loveland Trophy Tournament, Dec. 12 2004
7 Out of 13 Competitors Take Home Championship Trophy's
Middletown Youth Wrestlers showed their dominance in the tri-state on Sunday, December 12, 2004. 7 of the 13 that wrestled in the first annual Loveland Youth Wrestling Tournament took first place in their weight class. 2 others took 3rd and also brought home some hardware.
Taking home a first place trophy were: Ryan Miller, Jacob Globke, Desmond Hall, Paul Barnard, Andrew Smith, Nick Reeves, and Bobby Reeves. All of these wrestlers had 3 wins and 0 losses.
Taking home 3rd place trophies were: Andrew Globke and Brandon Killion. Each of these wrestlers had 3 wins and 1 loss.
Other wrestlers that had a good tournament were Christian Henry, Tim Lindenmuth(2 wins and 2 losses), Chucky Killion(1 win and 2 losses), and Josh Bowling (1 win and 2 losses).
Over 640 wrestlers competed in this first ever tournament for Loveland. It was a great success for the Middletown Youth Grapplers.

Z2004-05 Talawanda Invitational Trophy Tournament
January 22, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to Oxford for The Talawanda Invitational Trophy tournament on Saturday, January 22, 2005. Middletown took 9 wrestlers to this event. All nine wrestlers came home with a trophy in the tournament.
Taking home the championship trophy were: Andrew Globke, Jacob Globke, and Desmond Hall.
Getting a Second place trophy were: Bobbie Reeves, Paul Barnard, Taylor Rose and Mathew Helton
Getting Third place were: Andrew Smith and Nick Reeves.

Z2004-05 Bobbie and Ryan wrestle at Olentangy Duals
January 30, 2005 --
Bobbie Reeves and Ryan Miller traveled with The Conrad's Army Wrestling Club to Olentangy, Ohio to wrestle in the Olentangy duals. The team did very well placing 2nd in a ten team field. Bobbie won all four of his matches in this difficult tournament. Ryan won 4 matches and lost 1. Good job Bobbie and Ryan.

Z2005 - Jamestown Ram Rumble
November 12, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling will officially kick off its season with a free camp on November 15th thru the 17th at 5:30 in the High School Wrestling room(Door D downstairs.) If any one is interested in seeing if wrestling is the sport for them then come on in and try it out.
Wrestlers have already started practice and traveled to "The Ram Rumble" in Jamestown, Ohio on Saturday, November 12th. 15 wrestlers participated in this preseason wrestling event. Of the 15 wrestlers, Andrew Globke and Jacob Globke were champions in their weight classes, Andrew Smith was a runner-up, Desmond Hall and Caleb Mers took away 3rd place honors, and Taylor Rose, Matthew Helton, Colton Downard and Josh Bowling Placed 4th. Wrestling a good tournament but not finishing in the medals were Daniel Lane, Erica Gierzak, Chaz Corder, Garrett Downard, and Austin Wiseman. Congratulations to all.
If you want to come check out the Middletown Grapplers in action. The Club will be hosting "The Battle in The Middle" at Paul Walker Gymnasium on Sunday, December 4th, 2005. 650 wrestlers are expected at the tournament. "The Battle in the Middle" is the championship of the Greater Dayton and Cincinnati Area. Middletown Wrestlers Expect to have a good showing.

Z2006 - 14 Champions at Dayton Stebbins Wrestling tournament
December 11, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling had a great showing at the Dayton Stebbins Wrestling tournament on December 11, 2005. 31 wrestlers participated in the tournament that included teams from Miamisburg, West Carollton, Dayton Stebbins, Jamestown, Valley View, Enon, and Carlisle. Of the 31 Wrestlers that participated 14 came home with the 1st Place Honors, 5 grabbed 2nd place, 7 placed 3rd, and 5 placed 4th.
Taking home first place were, Desmond Hall, Nick Reeves, Andrew Globke, Mickey Bowens, Ty'Juan Davis, Garrett Downard, Jacob Globke, Greg Booth, Jadon Stephenson, Jeffry Paynter, Austin Wiseman, Brandon Killion, Ova Venters, and Colton Downard.
Grabbing 2nd Place were David Peck, Josh Bowling, Sam Price, Taylor Rose, and Jordan Yarletts.
Placing 3rd Were Andrew Smith, Erica Gierzak, Austin Wilmot, Matthew Helton, Zachary Currier, Dagan Cope, and Chaz Corder.
Placing 4th were Brandon Carr, Alex Kroger, Jerid Stephenson, Colin Isaacs, and Caleb Mers.
All of the wrestlers wrestled great and showed that the Middies are on the Move in the wrestling world in southwest Ohio.

Z2006 - 13 Qualify for Ohio Grade School State Tournament
February 11, 2006 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling Traveled to New Lexington, Ohio on February 12, 2006 for the O.A.C. District Tournament. 16 wrestlers participated in the event. 9 wrestlers qualified outright for the State Tournament and 4 wrestlers qualified as alternates.
In the Team Competition the wrestlers had a good showing coming in 3rd place overall with 336 Pts. This was a great accomplishment considering the Lancaster and Loudonville teams brought 30+ wrestlers each to Middletown's 16 Wrestlers and Team Miron was a Built-up team with 21 elite wrestlers brought in from all over the State.

Z2006 - 12 Dayton City Champions!!!
February 26, 2006 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling bettered it's record performance of 9 championships last year and walked away with 12 city championships this year.
On February 26, 2006, 32 wrestlers from Middletown Youth Wrestling participated at the Dayton(MVKWA)City Championships at the Nutter Center in Dayton. Of the 32 wrestlers 12 walked away with individual championships. 2 were runners-up, 5 were consolation champions. 5 placed 4th, and 8 other wrestlers participated, but finished just out of the final round.
Taking home the Championship in their weight classes were: Jeffrey Paynter, Desmond Hall, Andrew Globke, Nick Reeves, Andrew Smith, Garrett Downard, Colton Downard, Jacob Globke, Latrell Davis, Jadon Stephenson, Ova Venters, and Ty'Juan Davis.
Placing Second in their weight class were: Taylor Rose and Blake Reece.
Consolation Champions in their weight classes were: Jacob Landers, Colin Isaacs, Conner Patterson, Matthew Helton, and Jordan Yarletts.
Placing 4th were: Dagan Cope, Josh Bowling, Ricky Haskell, Sam Hall, and Austin Wiseman.
Also participating and recieving the 5th place ribbon were: Sam Price, Chaz Corder, Greg Booth, Caleb Mers, Alex Kroger, Austin Reece, David Peck and Jerid Stephenson.

Z2004-05 2 Crowned USA/Ohio State Folkstyle Champions
March 12, 2005 --
5 Middletown Youth Wrestlers Traveled to the USA Wrestling/Ohio State Championships on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Stebbins HS in Dayton, Ohio. Of the 5 wrestlers two were crowned USA Wrestling Ohio State Champions. 1 placed second and 2 placed 4th.
Andrew Globke and Jacob Globke both placed first in their weight classes and were crowned USA wrestling state folkstyle champions.
Andrew Smith Placed second in his weight class.
Desmond Hall and Josh Bowling placed 4th in their weight classes.

Z2004-05 Lakota East Tournament 2004-2005

3 WRESTLERS PLACE FIRST AT LAKOTA EAST TOURNAMENT
The Middletown Youth Wrestling team wrestled at the Lakota East Youth Wrestling tournmament on Sunday December 6th. The Team did very well in a tough tournament where the top three placers recieved invitations to the Ohio Tournament of Champions which is held in the spring and is considered a national championship tournament.
Placing first in their weight classes were Ryan Miller, Andrew Globke, and Jacob Globke.
Placing Second in their weight classes were Brandon Killion and Desmond Hall.
Placing Third was Andrew Smith.
Placing Forth were Austin Reece, Jacob Landers and Chuck Killion.
Other wrestlers from Middletown that wrestled well and had a good tournment were Tanner Roark(1 win), Cameron Gainey, Jordan Lansau, Hunter Goodwin, and Paul Barnard.

Z2004-05 Jamestown Youth Wrestling Tournament
December 19, 2004 --
The Middletown Youth Wrestling Team Excelled at the Jamestown Youth Wrestling Tournament Sunday, Decemeber 19, 2004. Middletown took 25 wrestlers to the tournmament. The young grapplers showed that they knew what they were doing when over half of the wrestlers placed either 1st or 2nd. The rest the of the wrestlers had very good matches also and showed some real promise for the future of our program. Good Job Wrestlers.
Middletown Had 9 Champions, 8 runners-up, 5 third place and 3 forth place wrestlers.
First place wrestlers were: Ryan Miller, Nick Reeves, Jeff Clemons, Chuck Killion, Jacob Globke, Brandon Killion, Tanner Roark, Anthony Annichenni, and Andrew Globke.
Second Place wrestlers were: Wyatt Dixon, Josh Bowling, Bobby Reeves, Bradley Schenck, Paul Barnard, Alex Kroger, Taylor Rose, and Jacob Harpe.
Third Place wrestlers were: Brey Smith, Desmond Hall, Matthew Helton, Cameron Gainey, and Nicholas Miller.

Z2004-05 Mason Holiday Trophy Tournament
January 2, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wresting crowned 2 champions at the difficult Holiday Trophy Tournament in Mason on January 2nd.
Bobbie Reeves and Andrew Smith took home 1st place honors with 3 wins each.
Placing 2nd were Matthew Helton, Kyle Whisman and Nick Reeves. Each had two wins and one loss.
Taking home a consolation Championships were Jacob Globke, Brandon Killion, Tanner Roark, and Andrew Globke each with 3 wins and 1 loss.
Also wrestling well were Chucky Killion, Taylor Rose, Josh Bowling, Cameron Gainey, Caleb Mers, Desmond Hall, Austin Burley, Alex Kroger, Jesse Creekbaum, Bradley Schenk, Kellon Duncan.
The Mason Holiday Tournament attracted 850 wrestlers from the tri-state and from as far away as Illinois and Michigan.

Z2004-05 Fairfield Open Youth Wrestling Tournament
January 9, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestlers went to the Fairfield Trophy Tournament on Sunday, January 9, 2005. Of the 12 wrestlers that participated 5 took 1st place, 2 took second and 1 took 3rd.
Taking 1st in Their weight class were: Jacob Globke, Ty'juan Davis, Jacob Landers, Ryan Miller and Andrew Smith.
Taking 2nd in their weight class were: Andrew Globke and Matthew Helton.
Taking 3rd in his weight class was Desmond Hall.
All of the other wrestlers also wrestled well and learned some good lessons in the sport of wrestling.

Z2004-05 SPRINGBORO WRESTLING TOURNAMENT
January 16, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to Springboro on Sunday January 16, 2005 to wrestle in the Springboro Youth Wrestling Tournament.
8 wrestled to a first place finish, 10 took second, 8 placed third and 3 finished off in forth place. It was another fine outing for the young grapplers.
Finishing first and keeping his undefeated season alive was Ryan Miller with 3 wins in the tournament and a season record of 15 wins and 0 losses. Jacob Globke, Andrew Smith, and Bobbie Reeves raised their season records to 18 wins, 15 wins and 11 wins respectively by winning first in their weight classes. Each only has one loss this season. Other first place winners were Brandon Killion, Austin Burley, Jeff Clemons, and Kellon Duncan.
Finishing Second with 2 wins and 1 loss in their weight classes were: Austin Reece, Hunter Hall, Tanner Roark, Blake Reece, Nick Reeves, Matthew Michalek, Andrew Globke, Chucky Killion, Desmond Hall, and Paul Barnard.

Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to West Carrollton on Sunday January 23, 2005 for the West Carrollton Youth Wrestling Tournament. Of the 26 wrestlers that Middletown took to this tournament, 12 took away first place honors with 3 wins each. 6 wrestlers placed 2nd, 4 placed 3rd and 4 placed 4th.

Bobbie Reeves traveled to Mineral Springs, West Virginia on Saturday Janurary 29, 2005 to Wrestle in the 12th annual Mineral Springs Invitational Tournamnet. Bobbie place 2nd in the 100 pound bracket over 14 other wrestlers.

January 30, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to Huber Heights, Ohio to wrestle in the Wayne Youth Wrestling tournament. Middletown Took 25 Wrestlers to this tournament. Of the 26 wrestlers, 7 took first place honors, 7 were runner-ups, 7 placed 3rd and 5 finished up in 4th place.
Winning the championship were: Brandon Killion, Jacob Harpe, Jacob Globke, Andrew Globke, Austin Reece, Tanner Roark, and Matthew Helton.
Coming in as the runner-up were: Matthew Mickalek, Kellon Duncan, Andrew Smith, Jake Burley, Nathan Squire, Anthony Annichenni, and Desmond Hall.

Z2004-05 Cincinnati City Championships
February 6, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to Harrison, Ohio for the Cincinnati City Championships Feb 6, 2005. There are 52 teams in the Cincinnati City league. Middletown took nine wrestlers to this event. Of the Nine wrestlers 4 came home Cincinnati City Champions. 3 were runners-up and 2 placed 4th. This was an excellent outing for the youth. They proved that they could compete with any one in this area.
Cincinnati City Champions were: Jacob Globke, (70lb. weight class Birth year 1995), Paul Barnard (Hwt, 1994), Nick Reeves,(90 lb.- 1994), and Desmond Hall, (95 lb-1994)
Cincinnati City Championship Runners-up were: Ryan Miller (75Lb - 1992), Andrew Globke(80lb - 1994) and Jacob Landers (65lb-1994).
Placing 4th were: Bobbie Reeves(100lb - 1992) and Austin Reece(85lb -
1994)
Andrew Smith Traveled to Bethel, Ohio for the 2nd half of the Cincinnati City Championships on February 13, 2005. Andrew had a very good day and finished 2nd in his weight class. Good job Andrew.

Middletown Youth Wrestling Traveled To Kettering, Ohio for The Kettering Firebird Youth Wrestling Tournament Sunday February 13, 2005. Middletown took 21 wrestlers to this tournament. Of the 21 wrestlers 6 took away Championship Honors, 7 took 2nd place, 4 placed 3rd and 4 finished off in 4th place.
Placing first in their weight class were: Jacob Globke, Jacob Landers, Brandon Killion, Austin Burley, Kellon Duncan and Tanner Roark.

Z2004-05 Regional Tournament at BeaverCreek
February 20, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to Beavercreek, Ohio on February 20, 2005 to wrestle in the Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association Reagional Tournament. Middletown took 33 wrestlers to this tournament. The top six in each weight class qualify to wrestle in the Dayton City Championships on February 27, 2005 in Vandalia, Ohio. Of the 33 that wrestled 30 qualified for the City Championships. 10 wrestlers were champions in their weight class, 3 were runners-up, 5 Placed 3rd, 4 were 4th, 6 were 5th and 3 were 7th.
Taking home the regional championship in their weight class were: Andrew Globke, Andrew Smith, Paul Barnard, Brandon Killion, Matthew Helton, Christian Estes, Ryan Miller, Jacob Globke, Ty'Juan Davis, and Bobby Reeves.
Regional runners-up were: Austin Burley, Kellon Duncan and Desmond Hall.
Placing 3rd were: Taylor Rose, Tanner Roark, Josh Bowling, Blake Reece, and Nick Reeves.
Placing 4th were: Tyler Mannon, Kyle Whisman, Chucky Killion, Jacob Landers, and Austin Reece.
Placing 5th were: Cameron Gainey, Caleb Mers, Jesse Creekbaum, Christian Henry, Bradley Sckenk, Anthony Annichenni, and Nathan Squire.

Z2004-05 Domination of Dayton City Championships
February 27, 2005 --
Wrestlers from The Middletown Youth Wrestling club dominated the Dayton City Championships on Sunday February 27, 2005 by capturing 9 titles, 3 second place finishes, 2 consolation championships and 4 forth place finishes. Jacob Globke won the triple crown of youth wrestling as he swept the main championships in the area. He won the Dayton City Championship (70lb), The Dayton Regional Championship and The Cincinnati City Championship. Jacob uped his record to an amazing 39 wins and 1 loss on the season. Jacob has won total of 12 tournament titles this year including the three major titles. His only loss came at the Mason holiday tournament where he lost to last years winner of the Columbus Tournament of Champions. Other championship wrestlers included: Bobby Reeves(105lb.), Nick Reeves(90lb), Brandon Killion(95lb), Desmond Hall(100lb.), Jacob Landers(65lb.), Ty'Juan Davis(115lb), Ryan Miller(75lb.) and Andrew Smith(60lb.).
Runners-up Were: Andrew Globke(80lb.), Tanner Roark(55lb.), and Austin Burley(75lb.).
Consolation Champions were: Paul Barnard(155lb.) and Blake Reece(40lb.).
4th place finishers were: Anthony Annichenni(60lb.) and Bradley Sckenk(110lb.)

Z2004-05 Year End Banquet March 10, 2005
March 3, 2005 --
We will be having our year end banquet on March 10, 2005 at the Roosevelt Elementary Gym on Central Avenue From 6 to 8 PM. All are invited including Grandparents, Relatives, and friends. There will be an open play time, a program where we hand out awards and a meal.
There will be a $5 dollar charge for each adult. Kids under 12 are free. Everyone must RSVP to Dawn or Steve Gainey. They will be collecting the money for the entry.
Every family should bring 1 two liter of Soda and either a desert or a bag of chips. Pizza, Cake, ice, plates and forks will be provided.
There will be raffle for many items that have been donated by local business. Tickets will be on sale. 1 ticket for $1 and 6 tickets for $5. Proceeds will be used for the team start-up and league costs next year.
Shoes and Singlets must be turned in before the Banquet to receive a trophy. If you are still wrestling in a tournament we will make arrangements with you to continue using them.

Z2004-05 Ryan Miller Takes District Championship as 7 qualify for State Tournament
March 6, 2005 --
Middletown Youth Wrestling traveled to Mason, OH for the 2nd and district qualifier for the Ohio Grade School State Championships. Ryan Miller walked away with the District Championship with a Technical Fall in the Championship match of the 80 lb weight class. Middletown qualified 6 other wrestlers for the State Tournament to be Held at Bowling Green State University on April 2 and 3rd.
Placing 2nd in their weight class were Andrew Smith (65 lbs) and Nick Reeves (95 lbs)
Placing 3rd in his weight class was Jacob Globke (70 lbs)
Placing 4th in their weight class were Bobby Reeves (100 lbs) and Kyle Whisman (75 lbs)
Placing 6th in his weight class was Desmond Hall.
Also wrestling and having a good day wrestling in this the toughest district in the state for grade school wrestling were: Andrew Globke(7th 80 lbs), Jacob Landers (7th 65lbs), Austin Reece, and Josh Bowling.

Z2004-05 Two wrestlers place at the Ohio Tournament of Champions
April 23, 2005 --
Andrew Smith and Jacob Globke from The Middletown Youth Wrestling Club traveled to Columbus, Ohio on April 23, 2005 to wrestle in the Ohio Tournament of Champions.
Both Jacob and Andrew had 64 man brackets to conquer to win this tournament, considered to be the hardest national tournament in the US by many. The tournament of Champions is The Largest One-Day Amateur Wrestling Tournament in the World. Over 3,500 wrestlers participated in the one day event. Competing wrestlers traveled from 42 differents states, Canada and Mexico.
Andrew Smith moved forward quickly getting a bye in his first round and winning his second match against a wrestler from Vermillion, Oh. He lost his second match to a wrestler from Goodrich, Michigan. In his battle back for the consolation championship he beat 3 wrestlers in a row from Dayton, Oh, Hagerstown, MD, and Allegamy, MI before falling victom to a wrestler for Montrose, Michigan in Overtime. Andrew won 4 matches and lost 2 placing 7th over all in the Bantam 65# weight class.
Jacob Globke started off the day by winning his first match against a wrestler from North Olmstead, PA. He fell behind and lost his second match to a wrestler from New York, NY. Jacob's battle back came with a wins over 4 wrestlers in a row including the same wrestler from New York that had beaten him earlier in the day. That win also put him into possition to battle for a medal. Jacob fell short with a lost to wrestler from Maryland. Jacob won 5 matches and lost 2 placing 7th in the Midget 67# weight class.
Jacob Globke and Andrew Smith are the first ever wrestlers to place at the tournament of champions. Both will be listed as a placers on the Ohio Tournament of Champions web site (www.ohiotofc.com) go check them out.
