NOTES FROM 2019 SEASON:
- 2019 marked the first season of the new playoff system that the MPSSAA adopted over the fall. The top 8 teams in each region now qualify for the playoffs. The regular season was shortened from 10 to 9 games. The playoffs were expanded from 4 to 5 games. Two teams from each region qualify for the Final 8 in each classification.
- Major changes were made to the Mountain Ridge schedule this year. Fort Hill was moved from the traditional second to last game of the year to the first game. This was done in order to keep Keyser on the schedule, as well as keep the Allegany/Fort Hill game in it's traditional last regular season game of the year spot.
- Catoctin and Williamsport were also added to the schedule to complete a schedule that consisted of more than 50% of its games against teams from its own region.
- Mountain Ridge saw a slew of injuries starting in Week #3, which hampered its efforts to field a competitive squad on what was expected to be an already down season.
- Despite the down year, the Miners' headed into the final three regular season games needing only one win to secure a playoff spot, they failed to get that lone win and missed the playoffs once again in 2019.

NOTES FROM 2020 SEASON:
- The 2020 football season will go down as one for the history books for many reasons. Due to the worldwide Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the season started with a Halloween night game on the road against Fort HIll, and concluded on Thursday afternoon, nearly extactly five months later, at home against the same Fort Hill team.
- With its victory over Fort Hill on 3/12/2021, the 2020 version of Mountain Ridge football became the first version to defeat this county rival in school history. The Miners were 0-15 against the Sentinels heading into the 2020 season.
- Due to Covid-19, not only was there a more than four month pause in the season, but the three county schools (Allegany, Fort Hill, Mountain Ridge) were only allowed to play against each other. When the season first started in late October that was due to travel restrictions put in place during the pandemic. When it got back underway in early March, this was due to most school systems in Maryland choosing different routes in resuming sports activities. For example, Allegany County's neighbor, Garrett County, played a couple more games in October and November before having to shut down, and never resumed the season in the Spring of 2021. Other school systems in Maryland choose to start with Winter sports or Spring sports, and forget about the Fall sports season all together.
- Due to the pandemic, no sport had a playoff season. All games were played to simply get kids active again.
- The last game against Fort Hill was postponed due to an outbreak of Covid amongst the Fort Hill players.

NOTES FROM 2021 SEASON:
- This was the first time Mountain Ridge has reached the State Championship in school history. Even though they were playing county rival Fort Hill for the Championship, the game was played at Navy Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.
- While Covid-19 was still widespread at this time, the vaccine that was developed help control it enough to allow fall sports to resume. This was the closest to normal operations we had seen in high school sports since before the pandemic started. Several schools throughout the State had to cancel or forfiet games due to outbreaks amongst their team.
- For the first time in school history, Mountain Ridge recorded multiple wins in the State Playoff tournament, going 2-1.
- Mountain Ridge recorded multiple at least 5-game winning streaks during the season.
