2009 SCHEDULE RELEASED!

PVI Baseball's 2009 Varsity and JV schedules have been finalized and are now in the Headlines Section (upper right) in PDF format. The defending State Champion Varsity Panthers face another challenging schedule in 2009, playing 25 regular season games in just over 7 weeks. The Panthers will open the season at home on Saturday March 14th vs. Hearts.  PVI plays at home again against Fredericksburg Christian on St. Patrick's Day at 6:00pm, followed by playing host to the defending WCAC Tournament Champion Dematha Stags on Friday March 20th at 7:00pm. The tilt with Dematha leads in to a nine-game stretch of intense WCAC contests complimented by a matchup with national powerhouse Calvert Hall in Baltimore on Saturday April 4th. For spring break, the Panthers will visit Charlottesville to play a double-header with perennial VA State power St. Anne's Belfield and then head further south to defend their '08 title at the Southeastern Baseball Classic in Hartsville, SC. The Varsity team will close the season with seven more tough WCAC opponents, before prepping for the WCAC Tournament and hopefully accepting another bid to the VISAA State Championship Tournament.
Click "TRADITION of EXCELLENCE" in the Headlines Section to see how the Panthers have fared vs. many of their 2009 opponents in years past.
