    Comments:Evans (6-4, 215, Tennessee State) comes to the Canton Legends after previous AF2 indoor season. He has played for the AF2 Macon Knights who acquired him to complete a trade with the Greensboro Prowlers from earlier in the 2003 season. In four games with the Prowlers that season, he completed 33-of-74 passes, for 570 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception. Evans started for Greensboro in the Knights 36-13 win over the Prowlers on April 11, 2003. The Knights defense smothered the Prowlers’ receivers holding Evans to just 9-of-29 passing, for 179 yards, one touchdown and one interception.In 2004 he played for the Birmingham Steeldogs where he completed over 60% of his passes with 25tds and only 5 Ints.

    In 2002, Evans played two games with the Mobile Wizards and four games with the Memphis Xplorers. He completed 24-of-57 passes for 261 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

    Evans comes from a school that produces Arena Football talent. At Tennessee State Evans followed Leon Murray who is currently the starting quarterback for the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League. Murray was recently named to the AFL’s 2003 All-Rookie team.

    Originally from Memphis, Tenn., Evans was named the Tennessee Player of the Year his senior season of high school by USA Today. He passed for 10,519 yards and 112 touchdowns during his high school career and is noted as the most prolific quarterback in Memphis high school history
