Sturgeon Win Second in a Row. Defeat Eagles 13-2!
The Sturgeon posted their 3rd win by defeating the Kewaunee Eagles 13-2. The Sturgeon put up 17 hits on the day, and everyone on the team had at least one. Two hit games came from Brian Kimmeth, Tom Wilkins, Tadd Russell, John Kalk, Brian Thiry, Matt Thiry, and Jesse Ray. Dave Nipp pitched a complete game allowing just 4 hits and striking out 8.
The Sturgeon are on a BYE the weekend of the 29th, and the league will have the 4th of July weekend off. The 4th weekend will again host the league All-Stars.
The Sturgeon will return to action July 13th when they travel to Appleton to play the Cubs.
Olsen's Piggly Wiggly Teams up Again With The Sturgeon
The Sturgeon have teamed up again with Olsen's Piggly Wiggly to sponsor our 50/50 raffle. They will be providing 2 free pounds of brats as prizes again for that drawing.
In addition, we will be hosting a Brat Fry on Saturday July 19th at Olsen's Piggly Wiggly on Lineville Rd in Howard across from Bay Port HS. This brat fry is one of our fund raisers planned for this year. Please come out to Olsen's Piggly Wiggly on July 19th and support your Bay City Sturgeon Baseball Club by having Brats and soda.

Again Culver's will be sponsoring the 7th inning stretch, and 5 lucky fans can win a free waffle cone coupon.
Olsen's Piggly Wiggly has donated two, 2 pounds of their Own Smoked Specialty Brats that will be given away during the 50/50 raffle in the 5th innings of all home games.
Our official logo will be revealed at our Home Opener on the 4th. Thanks go out to Jenny Thiry, and everyone who helped in the design process.
This year the sturgeon faithful will have an opportunity to support your team while wearing official team logo merchandise. A catalog is in production, and will be available for viewing at games in the near future.
Our new home after the games is the Watering Hole Sports Bar on Velp Ave. They have been very generous supporters of Sturgeon Baseball this year, and we look forward to many events together.
The Sturgeon will be hosting our first annual Brewer Bus Trip in September. More information will be coming on this site. Please see our game day magazine as well for more details.

Sturgeon Prepare for Title Defense

2008 is upon us, and the Sturgeon are now actively organizing for their first title defense. The reigning 2007 NEW MSBL champions will begin Spring Training in February. Many familiar faces will again take to the diamond, along with an infusion of some fresh talent signed in the off season. We are looking forward to a great season spent with family and friends on many warm (and some chilly) Sunday afternoons.
Opening day is set for the first weekend in May, and this year the playoffs will be completed in August prior to Labor Day. Keep checking back as the schedule will be posted as it becomes available.
Additionally, the Sturgeon would like to extend a warm invitation to the likely new expansion team hailing from Kaukauna.
Sturgeon Win Title in First Season!!!!!!!!

The Sturgeon won the NEW MSBL Championship in convincing style Saturday night. Out scoring their opponents 30-5 during their playoff run, the Sturgeon continued their regular season offensive success.
Dominating from the first at bat, the Sturgeon tallied 11 runs over the first 3 frames taking an commanding 11-0 lead. Once again, Adam Adamovich was in control of the game. He shut down an explosive A's lineup, allowing only 4 hits all game. 2 unearned runs in the 9th inning prevented the second consecutive complete game shutout. The entire Sturgeon lineup contributed to the win, and the game results can be found under the results link to the left.
We would like to thank all of our families, friends, supporters, and sponsors. This championship would not be possible if not for all the contributions, and support you have given to us this year.
We will see you all again at the ball park next year as we begin our defense of the league championship.
