    PROs

    1. Players will be challenged by players of equal or superior ability.

    2. Practices will be more in depth, more frequent, and longer than traditioanl "recreation" programs.

    3. Players will practice and play on larger courts than recreation programs.

    4. Age groupings are designed so that palyers are competing against players of equal age.

    5. Players will be exposed to many of our area's high school coaches.

    6. Players and parents will meet neet friends on a city, state, and possibly nationwide level.

    7. An opportunity to travel -i.e. Nationals inthe past have been in Memphis, TN, Orlando & Cocoa Beach, FL, and Salt lake City, UT, etc.

    8. Most importantly, it's FUN.

    CONs

    1. Tryouts - Not everyone makes the team. Being "cut" is disappointing. Realize that an invitation to tryout speaks highly of a player's ability.

    2. Expense - Will be outlined later.

    3. Time - There will be more and/or longer practices than the player and parents may be accustom to.

    4. There are frequent and madatory team and parent meetings to take care of paperwork, travel arrangements, fundraisers, etc.

    5. Fundraisers - A neccessary evil, especially if national tournaments are involved. These will be outlined later. ALL parents are expected to participate in league and team fundraisers.

    6. Most of ours games involve tournament paly; to advance you must win. Therefore, there is more emphasis on winning.

    7. There is no guarantee of playing time. This is a coach's decision and may be effective through any tournament.

    8. Players must re-tryout each year. This is necessary to improve and remain competitive. This means that a player may make the team one year, but not the next or vise versal.
