    Dedication to James Plummer
On April 14th 2009 Elmjack LL with the help of the Mets Foundation dedicated the Pony Field to James Plummer.

    Biography:

James Plummer - was born in Marion, Virginia. He began his baseball career when he was 10 years old he took his first official job as bat boy for the Marion (VA) Mets. James worked for the Marion Mets the entire time they were located in Marion, Virginia. He rose to the position of General Manager at the age of 18, and was the first and youngest minority General Manager for a minor league team. James graduated from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a degree in business management.
After College, James moved to New York to work for the New York Mets. He started in the accounting department and also served as a part-time recruiter for the baseball department. Then in later years took on the role as Director of Promotions and worked up to his current position as Director of Corporate Sales. He worked with the New York Mets for 31 years. In his capacity as Director of Corporate Sales, James worked with people of all walks of life but what can be said is that he treated everyone with respect with no distinction.
While working for the New York Mets, James had been actively involved with young people from coaching little league teams, to hiring youth to work during the baseball season. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Tommie Agee Foundation. His work and dedication made the Tommie Agee golf tournament a success. He had planed to one day see this venture into a multimillion dollar foundation to continue the work with kids that his dear friend Tommie Agee began and loved.
James was a member Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity Inc. and he was the recipient of a multitude of awards and honors which include the “Ya Gotta Believe Award” from the 2008 New York Mets Welcome Home Dinner, for his continued leadership role in the community and the way he represented the finest ideals of the New York Mets.
