Matt Bowen and Terrance Hall have been a devastating one-two punch on the ground all year for the Fairfax High School football team.

So it was little surprise Friday in the City Section Division II title game at East L.A. College that they would again be the driving forces for the Lions.

Bowen rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns and Hall for 152 and two scores to lead the Lions (9-3-1) to a 51-7 victory over Chatsworth (11-3) in the final.

The punishing ground game of Fairfax enabled them to keep the ball for long periods of time and meant they rarely had to throw. Quarterback Joe Floyd attempted only two passes, one of those being a spike to stop the clock.

Chatsworth struck first when Eric Waters raced 47 yards for a TD on the fourth play of the game.

But the rest of the night was dominated by Fairfax, which won its first City title since taking the Invitational crown in 2004.
