Moses Saucedo is what someone would call an underdog. He is just a year out of Garfield High school in East Los Angeles , where he was an all-city three year varcity athlete, as well as defensive lineman of the year in 2010. Yet , with all of his athletic success , he has yet to gain a full football scholarship to a four year university. Saucedo has been overlooked by various recruiters and coaches from various universities. He faces a great challenge on august 2nd when he enters camp for the San Jose State University Spartans football team. He is walking on to become part of the 2012 roster .

Saucedo started playing as a child for the East Los Angeles Bobcats pop warner football organization. "I have always loved playing football . Football is what i want to do . I thank my father , who was my football coach, who nurtured my love for the sport " stated Saucedo.

He eventually began attending Garfield High School , where he excelled immediately on the football program. Saucedo was favored by his coaches , as well as other athletes . " I thank my coaches at Garfield , who taught me well. They gave me the skills i need to succeed at this sport . They taught me that it takes mental effort and hard work which will get me far on the football field and in life"

After a stellar high school career , Saucedo noticed that he was being overlooked by various coaches and local universities. After graduating from Garfield High School saucedo got accepted to San jose State University on a academic scholarship and chose to try out and walk on during the fourth week of the fall football season in 2011.

He then began to play in the scout team and started making a name for himself.

"The competiton is extremely tough, the game is much faster and athletes are much bigger" at 6'0 225 pounds i am able to compete physically so i gotta focus on the mental part of the game"

Saucedo's future plans also include majoring in Kinesiology and eventually getting his master's degree in physical therapy at San Jose State University. "My parents are going to pay half of the tuition and I am getting a loan to pay the rest. I also plan on getting my master's degree in physical therapy, therapist I see how injuries can hurt people's future in football, so I want to be able to rehabilitate them. Also,I plan on making plays on special teams to earn a scholarship."

After Saucedo finishes his career in academics or football he plans to give back to his community in East Los Angeles .

Saucedo also offers thanks to those who have helped him to get to this point in his life . "I thank god for giving me this opportunity . My parents and grandparents Saucedo and Lozano family for being their for me . I would be no where without all my past coaches and teamates , special thanks to Fernando Sanchez aka Blacky who helped put my highlight video together and helped me get exposed ,i would also like to thank the East L.A Bobcats and Garfield football programs.

Saucedo offers the following advice to children who would like to follow his example " I would tell kids that hard work pays off , with hard work and effort you will get far. They love that mentallity at the next level.
