There is no doubt that the four best teams in City Section Division II have made it to the football semifinals, and that means it's going to be quite a Friday night.

No. 5 South Gate will be playing at No. 1 Hamilton and No. 3 Sylmar will be playing at No. 2 Eagle Rock. The winners will advance to the championship game on Dec. 6 at the Coliseum.

South Gate has lost one game on the field all season, and that was to Division I semifinalist Garfield. The Rams' offense put up 41 points on a good University defense last week. Antonio Washington had 153 yards rushing in four carries and caught two passes for 73 yards. He's part of a dynamic offense that includes quarterback Andrew Toro and running back Lavell Thompson.

Hamilton has a capble defense that shut out Venice. Quarterback Armani Rogers is 6-foot-6 and can run and pass.

The Sylmar-Eagle Rock game will also feature lots of offense. Sylmar quarterback Clarence Williams was six of six for 149 yards and two touchdowns in a 68-6 quarterfinal win over Chatsworth. Eagle Rock's defense came through in a 19-6 win over San Fernando, but the Eagles have weapons on offense, led by receiver Nick Jovanelly and running back Michael Soracco.
