L.A. City Section Football Final Four Predictions

LACitySports will be releasing this week's predictions one division at a time.

Division 1

#1 Narbonne vs. #4 Carson

Narbonne has Carson's number this year just like it has for the past two. Although, you never know what might happen when these two meet, Narbonne should pull off the win and move on to the Championship game.  The complete team effort this year has been a true testament of Coach Manuel Douglas' coaching skills. Narbonne 35 Carson 21

#2 Crenshaw vs. #3 Venice

What many are calling the Championship before the Championship should be a great game.  If you wanted to see Crenshaw face Venice well then you got what you asked for, Just try to ignore the fact that this game is in the semifinals.  There is a reason Crenshaw wanted to secure that #1 seed in the playoffs and that reason is Venice Football.  The Cougars know exactly how good the Gondos are and this will be the toughest challenge to date since Crenshaw's tough pre-season schedule.  Venice will not roll over and let the Cougars have their way but Crenshaw is on a mission to face Narbonne and reclaim the City Crown.  Very tough to pick but Crenshaw wins this one. Crenshaw 42 Venice 34

Division 2

#1 San Fernando vs. #12 Chatsworth

The upsets stop here. Cristian Solano is a great quarterback for San Fernando that makes all the right reads at the right time.  Chatsworth had an incredible run but do not have enough firepower to compete with the Tigers.  The Chancellors will not be able to stop Solano. San Fernando 42 Chatsworth 21

#2 Granada Hills vs. #6 South Gate

I really don't think the City Section fans believe in a team like South Gate.  They see this match-up as more of a formality from the eventual match-up between San Fernando and Granada Hills.  Well, lacitysports.com will call it first again, South Gate wins this match up behind the run game of Thompson and Flatos and advances to play San Fernando in the Championship. South Gate 35 Granada Hills 28

#1 View Park vs. #5 Torres

View Park comes into this game with a perfect 11-0 record. Torres comes in with a very respectable 8-3 record.  Both teams have played a very challenging schedule all year long.  View Park choosing to play the likes of Verbum Dei, Hamilton and Morningside while Torres played Huntington Park, Monroe and Eagle Rock.  View Park would probably be a very competitive team at the Division 2 level with a one-two and three punch in the running game with Munive, Munoz and German.  View Park is just too good and will beat Torres in this game. View Park 34 Torres 20

#2 Poly vs. #3 Bernstein

These two teams met earlier in the year. Final score, Poly 26 Bernstein 13. So what has changed since that September 20th meeting? Well, a lot has changed. The Dragons ran off 8 wins in a row after that loss while the Poly Parrots dropped a couple of games and really have not been challenged since a 42-48 loss to Verdugo Hills.  Go back to that September 20th meeting and you can see how that outcome decided the home field advantage for this game.  If the Dragons would have won, they would be sitting at #2 and waiting for Poly to get off those buses.  You can't ask for a better story than that of the Bernstein Dragons. The first time they traveled to Poly, the Poly fans were more than likely asking each other, "Who is Bernstein?" and chances are, the fans still do not know who their semifinal opponent is and where exactly they are from. It is always tough to beat the same team twice in a year. Bernstein will prove that theory is correct on Friday. Bernstein 24 Poly 20
