Anthony Denham Gets the Call from the Texans

The Houston Texans have signed rookie tight end Anthony Denham off the practice squad.

The Houston Texans have signed tight end Anthony Denham from their practice squad which will put him on the active roster. Denham is a rookie from Utah (6-4 and 235 lbs.), and made quite impression during the preseaon when he blocked a punt for a touchdown late in the preseason.

"I have gotten better since day one and just to have the coaches see all of that means a lot. For them to bring me up to the 53, it means they believe in me." said Denham.

Denham said he received the phone call from O'Brien yesterday letting him know he was being signed.

"It hit me pretty hard." said Denham of the call, "Finally, I got a big break and my chance."

Denham has been with the Texans since rookie mini-camp and made it through all of preseason before being signed to the practice squad heading into week one.

The addition of Denham gives the Texans four active tight ends on the roster and with starter Garrett Graham (ankle) being hurt early in last Sunday's game it could be a precautionary move for this weeks game.

To make room for Denham the Texans placed Max Bullough on the injured reserve.
