The "Original" Hustlaz: The Beginning
I was sitting here thinking about how much better things have gotten over the past few months with the organization and how much better we'll be in the near future, better internally and better opportunities for exposure for the kids that play on the team. The participation and the motivation of the current parents to help get this program moving for these kids have been a blessing.
None of this would have been possible if it had not been for the kids pictured above. Joe, Nick, Lionel Guess and Derrick came with me from the Dreamteam. The rest of the players were recruited from Stoneypoint and word of mouth. Two kids not pictured but were original members were Lionel and Olivares.
Coaching these kids was great for me too, because they helped me get through some tough times in my life. There were some funny characters on that team then as there are on the teams now. I'd like to thank the parents of those kids that let them play on that team, even though they didn't always agree with my style, they let me coach them the way I wanted to.
