    Sportsmanship Conduct Contract

    Dear Parent or Guardian:
    Good sportsmanship is the attitude and behavior that exemplifies positive support for the Marlow Community Baseball League. People involved in all facets of the athletic programs are expected to demonstrate respect for others and display good sportsmanship. Young people need to know that integrity, fairness, and respect are lifetime values taught through athletics and education.

    Sportsmanship Citizenship:
    --------------------------
    To prevent violent actions toward officials, opponents, and other spectators.
    To decreae the emphasis on just winning and losing an athletic event.
    To promote ethics, respect, and integrity in all walks of life.
    To promote the intrinsic rewards of athletics.
    To learn the attitiudes necessary for responsible behavior.


    Parent Responsibility: T.E.A.C.H.
    ---------------------------------
    T:Teach your child to be a team player. Make sure your child knows
    whether win, lose, scared, or heroic, you love them, appreciate their
    efforts, and are not disappointed in them. This will allow them to do
    their best without fear or failure. Be the person they can look to for
    positive reinforcement.

    E:Encourage each child. Not all children are athletically gifted. They
    are here for the enjoyment of the sport.

    A:Appreciation and respect for children, coaches, officials, opposing
    teams, and spectators. Treat them as you would a guest in your own home.
    Please refrain from making derogatory remarks, resorting to violence or
    hostility.

    C:Communicate with children, coaches, officials, and opposing teams in a
    respectful manner. Respect the integrity and judgement of game officials
    and their calls. Remember they are all doing their best to help promote
    the student-athlete and admire their willingness to participate in full
    view of the public.

    H:Healthy lifestyle. Refrain from the use of any controlled substances
    (alcohol, drugs, etc.)before, during, or after games, on or near the
    game facility.


    Remember we are here for our children to entertain us. Being here watching a child is a privelege.


    As a Parent or Guardian, I will show respect for all players, coaches, and league officials and officers for their involvement and decisions. It is my sole responsibility for my actions at any athletic sporting event. I understand that if my actions are out of line or offensive in any way to any person(s), I will receive a warning on the first offense. On a second occasion, I acknowledge I will be asked to leave the sporting event and premises. On the third and final offense, I acknowledge I will be asked to remove myself and my child from the league and the premises until the next available season. I hereby accept responsibility to be a model of good sportsmanship that comes with being a parent of a student-athlete.


    *This contract will apply to ANY and ALL individuals that will be in attendance to watch your child. Please advise them on the consequences of their actions.

    **A copy of this contract will be distributed with the signup papers. Please be sure to sign the Sportsmanship Contract and return it at signup.
