Mets Slam Braves-Snap Two Game Win Streak
Powered by three home runs, including a 9th ninth inning grand slam from their first baseman and by solid starting pitching, the Mets hammered the Braves in a 20-4 loss. The loss snapped a 2 game Braves winning streak.
The Braves finally broke through against the Mets relief pitching scoring three runs in the 7th and a single run in the 8th.
Rick Bedford continued his torrid offensive attack by going three for three, an RBI, and two stolen bases. He accounted for 1/3 of the entire Braves hit production. John Laughlin also chipped in with a single and double with a run scored.
Defensively, John Ross picked up a nifty outfield assist with a double play in the 7th, Bedford threw out a runner trying to steal in the first, and Chris Cichorek picked up three more outfield put outs for a team outfield leading 12.
