March Madness For the Orange
March Madness for the Big Round Orange teams came and went like a blur. The weekend tournament in Orange County and Long Beach was quite exciting and eventful. The opening rounds had the teams making adjustments due to scheduling and gym changes but the 13 and varsity teams found their way through it. The 13 team lost, while the high school team won, both games were close games decided in the final minutes. The rest of the tournament proved to be just as tough, with both teams being in the running for championship honors right down to the end. Both teams came up just a hair short of their goals but it was a great first tournament of the year and served the purpose of the teams old and new players getting their feet wet before they hit the road and travel for the next tournament. For the next tournament the teams will be traveling to Fresno Ca. for the "Central California Showdown",This tournament has teams from Northern and Southern California meeting in the middle of the state for plenty of Basketball Fun and Excitement.

At Big Round Orange and Academic Development it is our mission to BROADen the mental and physical capabilities of our youth. We strive to mix strong work habits and good ethical values with fun and games, to provide release from temptations of drug and gang activity, to better insure a balanced foundation for life.
Statement Of Purpose
The purpose is to make B.R.O.A.D. the scope of understanding in our youth(boys and girls) in many areas. To make BROAD their geographic and social circles, through traveling and making new lifelong aquaintances. To enhance present skills, tap into and build undeveloped skills, both mentally and physically. To teach each youth to work hard with others to achieve common goals while having fun, staying free from drugs and gangs. Ultimately the goal is to instill the importance of teamwork, strong work ethics, good sportsmanship and the spirit of fair play, thus preparing the youth for success in society today AND in their future
