The 2009-2010 Season
Kicks Off the the Harlem Wizards
Alexandria Recreation in partnership with the Friends of Alexandria Park had a great evening of basketball with a game between the Harlem Wizards and our own DelVal Hoopsters. The Hoopsters were made up of a many of our community friends that included representatives from Alexandria School District, led by Dr. Jennings and Mr. Pawlowski. We would like to thank them and the teachers who participated. In addition we had coaches from Alexandria and Holland recreation teams, the 7/8th grade girls travel team and we rounded out the team with some members of the adult men's group that play on Monday nights. Thank you for a great night of hoops.
The event was so much fun and well run. We would like to also thank all the volunteers from the Alexandria Parks and Recreation and the community that made the night a wonderful event with the community.
We would also like to thank the many sponsors for the evening. We could not have done the event with out them.

The registration period has been extended until November 27th.
The time has come to register for the 2009-10 Recreational basketball season. We have teams starting in Kindergarten and going up to 8th grade. Please download the attached form and send it in before November 1st for the early bird rate. This year is sure to be a great season of basketball that will be kicked off with the Harlem Wizards game, Saturday, November 21st.
If you are interested in coaching please be sure to indicate that on the form. We will be having a coaches meeting on Thursday, October 29th at 7pm in the AMS cafeteria. All who are interested are welcome.

Interested in sponsoring a team? Sponsoring a team provides the league with the opportunity to bring basketball speakers talk to the players and upgrade equipment. If you are willing to sponsor a team we will put your company name on the back of the team shirts.
About Us...
The Alexandria Township Basketball Program provides both recreational-level and competitive play for children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grades in the Alexandria Middle Schools, as well as open gym programs for teens and adults.
All programs have voluntary participation (competitive play includes try-outs) including coaching duties which are generally provided by parents and guardians of the players.

The Alexandria Basketball Program is supported by the Alexandia Township Parks and Recreation Commission, which provides an outlet for a large array of programs and community events.
