Flying Dog's Repeat as MMSPBL Champions
July 26, 2009
The Frederick Flying Dogs captured their 2nd straight Mid-Maryland Semi-Pro Baseball League Championship Sunday defeating the Westminster Falcons in 3 straight games in the best of 5 series. Both the Flying Dogs and Falcons will go on to Salisbury, MD to represent the league in the National Amateur Baseball Federation Regional Tournament on August 6-9. The Flying Dogs will then represent the MMSPBL in the Maryland State Tournament hosted by Maryland Semi-Pro Baseball at Thomas Run Park in Harford County on Saturday August 30th.

South Penn League Accepts MMSPBL All-Star Challenge
Friday, June 26th the MMSPBL All-Stars will square off against the South Penn League All-Stars under the lights at Littlestown Memorial Field in Hanover, PA. The South Penn League will be playing host in the first contest of what we hope will become an annual event. The game will be a 9 inning contest played under Major League Baseball rules with only the exceptions set forth in the host organizations rules and bylaws. The game will begin at 7:30 PM with introductions and the National Anthem starting at 7:15.
All-Star selections will be made by the MMSPBL managers 10 days prior to the game. An online ballot will also be posted in the near future to provide the managers input for consideration during the All-Star vote, be sure to cast your vote! Twenty-one players will be named to the MMSPBL All-Star team along with 4 alternates.
