Mojo comes home proud!!

With a 4 win 1 loss record as the only Illinois/Indiana team to ever compete at the Showcase in the City of Lights Tournament, Mid USA Mojo arrived back home early Monday morning.....worn out.....beat up....and ready to take on the world!  Daily website updates while in Vegas didn't work as we planned due to some internet issues but we were very proud of the showing our girls had.  The came ready for the challenge....and their play was a great example of how good fastpitch can be .....in in the Midwest!!  We played at the awesome Majestic Park, just seeing the look on the girls (and the parents!) face was almost enough reward for all the hard work put in for this trip.  Beautiful fields....with mountains in view almost everywhere you looked.  Alot of teams were amazed and wondering why we would come all the way there to play.... but with temperatures in the 70's and nothing but sunshine it wasn't hard for them to understand that playing great competition, in an awesome complex, with no rain and cold windy weather, was a dream come true for a team from IL in the month of October!  Friday we swept all games, even though we had one player taking cough and cold medicine between games, another with partial vision in one eye- due to a nasty case of pink eye that showed up the day before we left, and a pitcher who took a shot to her pitching hand and badly injured her finger (yes...and came back to hit BACK TO BACK HOME RUNS in the next game!!).  Mojo ran into a little trouble (you know...that 1 bad inning!) on Saturday's first game and felt the sting of their first loss.  Thats all it took for them to come back ready to capture the last win of the showcase.  Our catcher was injured in a close play at home (yes...she got the out!), which benched her for the first time in her playing career...for the finish of the game.  In true Mojo style our girls rallied on and stomped out and got the job done to finish the weekend with an impressive record!  Great attendance by college coaches and alot of conversations has already led to some open doors for some of our girls! That gave us a little time to squeeze in some Halloween fun.... Halloween in Vegas is certainly something these players will not soon forget!  Watch for some pictures to be posted soon, and once again- thank you so very much for all the good wishes and support for these very determined young athletes!

Watch for updates soon with our next fundraising adventures!!!  With their pockets empty from Vegas....now they are ready to save for the Colorado Sparkler!!

Fall Exposure Season Is Here!!

The weather gets colder, the leaves start changing colors.....and most average jo softball players haven't touched a bat in weeks.  But ya gotta remember....

MOJO KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES!!

Mid USA Mojo is a competitive traveling fastpitch team made up of players from the IL/IN area. Mojo players all share a common goal to player softball at a collegiate level.  The team has traveled in a three state area and will move into the highly competitive national exposure circuit this October when they compete in the Triple Crowns Showcase in the City of Lights in Las Vegas NV.  They will be the first team from Illinois to ever compete in this showcase.Mojo girls play with       H & H.....Hustle and Heart.  They play hard, learn from their mistakes, and never, ever, give up!
