Good Afternoon,

Amateur sports organizations need change, they need renewal and need fresh ideas. The reality is most organizations are run by a very few committed volunteers that have a passion for the sport. Football may exemplify this fact more than many sports. Most committed football people are "lifers" . They live and breathe the sport and its strategies and the benefits it can provide young people both on and off the field.

Football in Mississauga has survived despite many of the challenges the sport faces in general and the specific challenges within our community. High school programs have dwindled and participation at younger ages has declined. Several years ago a few of us stepped in to keep the Warrior club going when it appeared the club may not keep operating. The Warriors have helped so many players graduate to careers in university and pro football. More importantly it has hopefully provided many players the discipline to succeed in other areas. It has always been satisfying to see how many of our former players come back and want to coach the current players. They want to give back. We believed and still believe that the Warriors provide a needed outlet for many kids in our community, especially in these very challenging times. Our mission statement was very basic:

We will always act in the best interests of our players and the club in order to provide our players the ability and opportunity to develop their physical and mental skills to thrive in the game of football and in their daily lives”

In May 2020 we formalized our merger with the Mississauga Football League to bring football together in Mississauga. The power of working together would be more powerful than each group working in isolation. The plan was and still is to keep the Warriors brand a strong name in Mississauga and Provincial football circles. To help build football up within our region and to compete at the highest levels of football in Ontario.

I would like to thank everybody for the opportunity to be a steward of the organization for last 10 or so years in various capacities. It has been hard work but really rewarding and fun. It could not have worked without the tireless support of so many coaches and volunteers. I will miss them.

Thank you and 3.2.1 Warriors/Family.
