DM Mustangs win 2009 Air Force Championship
August 10, 2009
The Davis-Monthan AFB Mustangs varsity baseball team won the 2009 Air Force BASH Baseball Championship tournament held 6-9 August at Altus AFB, Oklahoma. The Mustangs defeated the Tinker AFB Rangers 12-2 in the Championship game to secure the title.
Mustangs' shortstop/pitcher Tim Hatcher was awarded the tournament Most Valuable Player award for the third consecutive year.
The DM Mustangs would like to thank Altus AFB and Joe Garcia for hosting this year's tournament.
The Mustangs will continue to play in the Duke Wood Bat summer season and recently completed their best ever season in the Tucson Parks and Recreation League. These leagues and teams feature players of all talent levels, to include former major league players, former minor league players, and current college players of many levels, from junior colleges to NCAA Division 1.
