DPLL A’s Drive Home Another Freeway Series Win
The Dos Pueblos Little League A’s defeated the Goleta Valley South Little League Giants 6-4 on May 31 at GVSLL in the annual Freeway Series matchup between Majors division-winning teams.
This is the third year in a row DPLL has prevailed in the annual game. Last year, the DPLL Reds won and in 2010 the DPLL Twins hoisted the trophy.
The Tournament of Champions began in 1985 as part of the friendly competition between the two leagues. DPLL holds a slim three-game advantage according to the history etched on the perpetual trophy, which is now in the possession of A’s manager Chris Koeper.
All-star team rosters will be announced later this month for both District 63 Little Leagues.
