Knights Tourney Bound!!!!!
July 16, 2009 The New England Knights are set to compete in the double elimination CT State Mantle 16U Mantle Tournament beginning with a 3:00pm game against AABC Champ Watertown. With a win, the Knights will play at 1pm; a loss nets them a 10am start, both Saturday games would be at Municipal Stadium.

The third game will be at 4:00pm Municipal Stadium if the team is still in contention.

Ben Hintz (1-2 with a 3.94 ERA, 28K in 26.2 inn) will start game 1 Friday afternoon for the Knights.

Briatico/Knights hand Cobras first loss.
Nick Briatico pitched six shutout innings and the rest of the Knights played sound defense behind him in a 2-0 win over the previously undefeated Meriden Cobras. The Knights took advantage of a few defensive miscues by the Cobras to notch their sixth win this season. In the first inning Matt Maynard walked, stole second, advanced to third on a fielders choice, and scored on a Briatico sac fly. Leading off the 5th, Joey Tacinelli advanced to second base on a throwing error and Vinny Rosa promptly lined an RBI base hit to centerfield to tally the Knights 2nd run. Ben Hintz and Jake Wazorko also had hits for the Knights.
